Chauffeur service across greater Houston. Bush Intercontinental, Hobby and the Galveston cruise port, with EZ TAG tolls already inside the quoted price.
The same chauffeurs and the same fixed pricing, dispatched differently depending on what the day asks for.

Houston airport transfersThe right shape for a day in Downtown Houston with several stops. The car waits between meetings, and parking is not your problem.
Hourly chauffeur in HoustonGalveston cruise terminals, Austin, San Antonio and beyond, door to door, with your luggage staying in the car the entire way.
Intercity rides from HoustonPort of Galveston, Bayport Cruise Terminal, timed to embarkation windows rather than to the clock, with luggage handling included.
Houston cruise transfersA Houston chauffeur service is pre-arranged ground transport booked ahead at a fixed price, carried out by a licensed for-hire operator. It is not hailed on the street and not dispatched on demand. The vehicle, the chauffeur and the price are all settled before the day of travel, whether the booking is a IAH airport transfer, an hourly car service or a black car to a morning meeting.
In practice that distinction decides what happens when things go wrong. A metered taxi and a surge-priced app both re-price themselves when traffic turns or the weather does. A reserved Houston car service booking does not. The number you agreed is the number you pay, and it already contains the tolls, the airport access fees and the taxes.
The same reservation covers the rest of the region: William P. Hobby transfers, Ellington transfers, Sugar Land Regional transfers, and a car service to Galveston cruise terminals when the trip runs further out. For companies moving people through the city regularly, corporate travel in Houston adds central billing and duty-of-care reporting on top of the same fleet.
Which one is right depends far more on where you are going than on which is nearest. Each has its own page with terminal detail and pickup arrangements.
| Airport | Distance | Typical drive, off-peak | Typical drive, peak | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| George Bush IntercontinentalIAH | 23 miles | 35 to 50 min | 55 to 95 min | International arrivals, long-haul and a major United hub |
| William P. HobbyHOU | 11 miles | 20 to 30 min | 35 to 60 min | Domestic flights, and much the quicker arrival into Downtown |
| EllingtonEFD | 18 miles | 25 to 40 min | 45 to 70 min | General aviation and the Clear Lake and NASA corridor |
| Sugar Land RegionalSGR | 22 miles | 30 to 45 min | 50 to 80 min | Private aviation southwest of the city |
| West HoustonIWS | 20 miles | 30 to 45 min | 50 to 80 min | General aviation for the Energy Corridor |
Drive times are door to door from the arrivals kerb, not gate to gate, and they assume a direct private vehicle rather than a shared shuttle. Peak means roughly 07:00 to 10:00 and 15:30 to 19:30 on a weekday.
Houston is physically enormous and almost every useful road across it is tolled. Both facts shape what a transfer here actually costs and how long it takes.
The city limits alone cover around six hundred square miles and the metropolitan area is far larger. Intercontinental sits twenty three miles north of downtown, Hobby eleven miles southeast, and the Energy Corridor is another twenty miles west of the centre. A run from IAH to Katy crosses more ground than a trip between two European cities. Judge every booking by the drive time rather than by the perceived closeness of two points on a map.
Houston's fast roads are toll roads. The Sam Houston Tollway, the Hardy Toll Road, the Westpark Tollway and the Fort Bend parkways are electronic, requiring an EZ TAG, and on most airport runs they are the difference between fifty minutes and ninety. Those charges sit on the vehicle and are inside your quoted price. The free alternatives exist and are slower, which is the whole point of the arrangement.
Galveston is the other defining feature of this market. The cruise terminals there are around fifty miles from Houston and roughly seventy from Intercontinental, and embarkation day transfers are one of the largest single categories of booking we take in Texas. Cruise days are timed to boarding windows rather than the clock, luggage runs heavier than air travel, and the traffic on I-45 south on a Saturday morning in season is its own event. Size a vehicle class above your instinct and leave earlier than feels necessary.
Flooding is worth stating plainly rather than skirting. Houston floods, sometimes with little warning, and when it does, routes close and journey times stop being predictable. Operators here plan around it and dispatch reroutes in real time, but during a severe weather event no fixed price can promise a fixed duration.
Details above were checked against public sources at the time of writing. Rates, terminal assignments and construction timelines in this section change faster than any website updates, so treat your chauffeur's message on the day as the authority.
Published transfer times are usually the best case. These are ranges, and the upper end happens often enough to plan around.
| Route | Off-peak | Weekday peak | What moves it |
|---|---|---|---|
| IAH to Downtown | 35 to 50 min | 55 to 95 min | I-45 south or the Hardy Toll Road, and the toll road usually wins |
| IAH to the Galleria and Uptown | 40 to 55 min | 65 to 110 min | Beltway 8 west then 610, tolled most of the way |
| IAH to The Woodlands | 25 to 35 min | 40 to 70 min | North rather than south, and much shorter than going downtown |
| Hobby to Downtown | 20 to 30 min | 35 to 60 min | I-45 north, the most predictable airport run in the city |
| IAH to the Texas Medical Center | 40 to 55 min | 70 to 110 min | The full length of the city, and a booking we take constantly |
| IAH to the Energy Corridor and Katy | 45 to 60 min | 75 to 120 min | Beltway 8 west, the longest routine corporate run here |
Each route above has its own page with pricing by vehicle class, the roads actually used and the times worth avoiding.
Intercity runs are priced as one fixed fare for the whole journey, not per hour, so the traffic is our problem rather than yours.
| Destination | Distance | Typical drive | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Galveston cruise terminals | 50 miles | 1h to 1h 30 | The biggest single long run out of this city |
| Austin | 165 miles | 2h 30 to 3h 15 | US-290 west, straightforward outside Houston's own peak |
| San Antonio | 195 miles | 2h 50 to 3h 30 | I-10 west the whole way |
| Dallas | 240 miles | 3h 30 to 4h 30 | I-45 north, long enough that First is worth it |
| College Station | 100 miles | 1h 40 to 2h 10 | Game weekends should be booked well ahead |
| New Orleans | 350 miles | 5h 15 to 6h 30 | A genuine road trip, usually chosen when flights fail |
| Terminal | Location | Typical transfer |
|---|---|---|
| Port of Galveston | Galveston Island, Texas | 1h to 1h 30 from Houston |
| Bayport Cruise Terminal | Pasadena, Texas | 40 to 60 min |
Embarkation day luggage runs heavier than air travel for the same trip length, because there is no airline weight limit pushing back. Size one class above your instinct and read the guidance on Houston cruise transfers before you book.
The chauffeur meeting you is dispatched by an operator based here, not routed in from another market.
The capacity below is the honest number, not the manufacturer maximum. Carrying full-size cases, take the next class up.

No meter, no surge multiplier, and no line item that appears after the ride is over.
Hobby is close to downtown and the run is easy, so for a single traveller with a carry-on arriving midday, a rideshare is a perfectly reasonable booking. The METRO bus from Hobby also works if time is not the constraint.
A chauffeur earns its price on the Intercontinental runs where the distance and the tolls are real, on Galveston cruise days, for the Energy Corridor and The Woodlands where the ride is long enough that a meter becomes uncomfortable, for medical centre appointments where arriving on time is not optional, and for groups where one van replaces three cars across a very large city.
The full cost and time comparison against the meter is on Houston taxi versus chauffeur.
The terminal assignment, the pickup zone that moved last month, the parking permit for that garage. None of it reaches you.
Pickup, drop-off, date and time. Add a flight number and we track the aircraft rather than the schedule.

It depends far more on your destination than on distance. George Bush Intercontinental (IAH), William P. Hobby (HOU) are the main options, and the drive times differ enough that the cheapest ticket is often not the cheapest arrival. The table above sets out distance and typical drive time for each, and every airport has its own page with terminal detail and pickup arrangements.
In the designated pre-arranged pickup area for your terminal, with the chauffeur calling as you reach the doors. Pickup zones at IAH change during construction and reorganisation, so the operator confirms the current meeting point on the morning of your flight rather than relying on anything printed in advance. Being met inside arrivals on your name is a paid add-on.
Between 35 to 50 min off-peak and 55 to 95 min in weekday peak traffic, door to door from the arrivals kerb. Published figures shorter than that usually describe a quiet Sunday morning. Each route from the airport has its own page with the roads used and the times worth avoiding.
Yes. Bridge, tunnel and expressway tolls, express lane charges, airport access fees and taxes are all inside the price quoted at the time of booking. Ride-hailing apps and taxis add these to your fare per trip, which is why two apparently similar quotes can settle very differently at the end of the ride.
Yes. Every vehicle is run by a for-hire operator licensed in its own jurisdiction, with licensing and insurance verified before they can take a booking rather than checked per ride.
Sixty minutes of free waiting from the actual landing time, tracked against the aircraft rather than the schedule, which covers immigration, baggage and customs. Every other pickup includes 15 minutes. Beyond the free window, waiting is billed in 15-minute increments at the vehicle class rate and you are told before it starts.
At least 3 hours before pickup so the operator can assign and brief a chauffeur, though RYDES takes reservations up to a year out. For group vehicles and for the busy weeks noted above, book as early as you can, because availability runs out long before price becomes the problem.
Add your flight number and we track the aircraft. A delay moves your pickup automatically and costs nothing, with free waiting starting at the actual landing time. A diversion is handled by dispatch, who will re-brief a chauffeur to the new field where the operator has coverage. Dispatch answers around the clock on +1 888 881 7933.
Yes, with a two-hour minimum in 30-minute increments. The chauffeur waits between stops and nothing runs while you are inside a meeting. Once a day involves three or more stops, hourly hire is usually cheaper than separate transfers once you count the waiting you would have done anyway.
Yes, and it is one of our largest Texas bookings. Galveston is around fifty miles from Houston and seventy from Bush Intercontinental, so allow an hour to an hour and a half from the city and longer on a Saturday morning in cruise season. Bookings are timed to your boarding window rather than to the clock, luggage handling is included, and embarkation luggage runs heavier than air travel for the same trip, so size a class above your instinct.
Hobby is eleven miles from Downtown and is much the quicker arrival for Downtown, the Medical Center and anywhere on the south side, but it is largely domestic. Bush Intercontinental is the international gateway and is considerably closer to The Woodlands and the northern suburbs than Hobby is. For anything north of the city, IAH wins even though it is further from the centre.
Yes. The Sam Houston Tollway, the Hardy Toll Road, the Westpark Tollway and the other electronic facilities are charged to the vehicle's EZ TAG, and on a RYDES booking that sits inside the price you were quoted along with airport access fees. It matters more here than in most cities, because the tolled route is routinely half an hour faster than the free one.
