Palm Springs corporate travelA Palm Springs chauffeur service is pre-arranged ground transport booked ahead at a fixed price, carried out by a licensed for-hire operator. It is not hailed on the street and not dispatched on demand. The vehicle, the chauffeur and the price are all settled before the day of travel, whether the booking is a PSP airport transfer, an hourly car service or a black car to a morning meeting.
In practice that distinction decides what happens when things go wrong. A metered taxi and a surge-priced app both re-price themselves when traffic turns or the weather does. A reserved Palm Springs car service booking does not. The number you agreed is the number you pay, and it already contains the tolls, the airport access fees and the taxes.
The same reservation covers the rest of the region: Ontario International transfers, John Wayne Orange County transfers, Los Angeles International transfers, and a car service to Los Angeles when the trip runs further out. For companies moving people through the city regularly, corporate travel in Palm Springs adds central billing and duty-of-care reporting on top of the same fleet.
Which one is right depends far more on where you are going than on which is nearest. Each has its own page with terminal detail and pickup arrangements.
| Airport | Distance | Typical drive, off-peak | Typical drive, peak | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Palm Springs InternationalPSP | 2 miles | 8 to 15 min | 15 to 30 min | Everything, and one of the shortest airport runs in the country |
| Ontario InternationalONT | 60 miles | 1h to 1h 20 | 1h 20 to 2h | The nearest large field, and often the cheaper flight |
| John Wayne Orange CountySNA | 75 miles | 1h 20 to 1h 40 | 1h 45 to 2h 45 | Orange County connections |
| Los Angeles InternationalLAX | 110 miles | 2h to 2h 30 | 2h 45 to 3h 45 | International arrivals, and a long drive at the end of them |
| Jacqueline Cochran RegionalTRM | 25 miles | 30 to 40 min | 40 to 65 min | Private aviation at the eastern end of the valley |
Drive times are door to door from the arrivals kerb, not gate to gate, and they assume a direct private vehicle rather than a shared shuttle. Peak means roughly 07:00 to 10:00 and 15:30 to 19:30 on a weekday.
Palm Springs has the shortest airport transfer of any city on this list and the most extreme demand curve. Both are worth understanding before you book.
The airport is two miles from downtown and the transfer is eight to fifteen minutes. For most of the year this is the easiest arrival in America. Then there are the weeks when it is not, and they are entirely predictable: the BNP Paribas Open at Indian Wells in March, and Coachella and Stagecoach across three consecutive weekends in April. During those, Highway 111 and the roads into Indio saturate, a thirty minute drive becomes two hours, every vehicle in the valley is committed, and availability disappears months rather than weeks ahead.
The seasonal swing is the other half of it. From roughly November to May the valley is full and the weather is the reason people come. From June to September daytime temperatures routinely exceed 110 degrees, and that is not a comfort footnote, it is an operational one. Nobody waits outside in that. Vehicles are pre-cooled, kerbside waits are kept short, and meet-and-greet inside the terminal is worth considerably more in July than in January.
Golf is the third shaping factor. This valley has well over a hundred courses and a large share of arrivals travel with clubs. A set of clubs takes roughly the space of a large suitcase, so four golfers with luggage need a van rather than an SUV whatever the seat count suggests. Declare the clubs at booking.
One thing worth knowing about the drive from Los Angeles: it is a hundred and ten miles and it can take anything from two hours to three and a half. The I-10 through the pass backs up badly on Friday afternoons heading east and Sunday afternoons heading west. If your schedule allows either side of those windows, take it.
Details above were checked against public sources at the time of writing. Rates, terminal assignments and construction timelines in this section change faster than any website updates, so treat your chauffeur's message on the day as the authority.
Published transfer times are usually the best case. These are ranges, and the upper end happens often enough to plan around.
| Route | Off-peak | Weekday peak | What moves it |
|---|---|---|---|
| PSP to downtown Palm Springs | 8 to 15 min | 15 to 30 min | Barely a journey, which is the point of this airport |
| PSP to Palm Desert and Rancho Mirage | 25 to 35 min | 35 to 55 min | Highway 111 down the valley |
| PSP to La Quinta and Indian Wells | 30 to 45 min | 45 to 70 min | The resort and tournament corridor |
| PSP to Indio and the festival grounds | 30 to 45 min | 1h to 2h 30 | Normal most of the year, unrecognisable in April |
| LAX to Palm Springs | 2h to 2h 30 | 2h 45 to 3h 45 | The 10 east, and Friday afternoons are genuinely bad |
| PSP to Joshua Tree | 45 to 60 min | 1h to 1h 20 | Up out of the valley, usually booked hourly |
Each route above has its own page with pricing by vehicle class, the roads actually used and the times worth avoiding.
Intercity runs are priced as one fixed fare for the whole journey, not per hour, so the traffic is our problem rather than yours.
| Destination | Distance | Typical drive | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Los Angeles | 110 miles | 2h to 3h 30 | The 10 west, and the Friday return is the problem |
| San Diego | 140 miles | 2h 15 to 3h | Down through Temecula |
| Orange County and Newport Beach | 95 miles | 1h 40 to 2h 30 | The 91 is the pinch point |
| Joshua Tree National Park | 45 miles | 50 to 70 min | Usually a half day booked hourly |
| Temecula wine country | 75 miles | 1h 20 to 1h 45 | A day out rather than a transfer |
| Las Vegas | 280 miles | 4h 15 to 5h 30 | The long desert run |

No meter, no surge multiplier, and no line item that appears after the ride is over.
The airport is two miles from downtown. If you are staying in central Palm Springs, travelling light and arriving on a normal day, a taxi or a rideshare is a perfectly sensible booking and we would not pretend it is not. Much of the village is walkable and the hotels are close together.
A chauffeur earns its price on the festival and tournament weeks when apps become unreliable and expensive at once, on the Los Angeles and Orange County runs where the distance is real, with golf clubs and groups, in the summer when the walk to a kerb is genuinely unpleasant, and for the eastern valley resorts where the ride is forty five minutes rather than ten.
The full cost and time comparison against the meter is on Palm Springs taxi versus chauffeur.
The terminal assignment, the pickup zone that moved last month, the parking permit for that garage. None of it reaches you.

It depends far more on your destination than on distance. Palm Springs International (PSP), Ontario International (ONT), Los Angeles International (LAX) are the main options, and the drive times differ enough that the cheapest ticket is often not the cheapest arrival. The table above sets out distance and typical drive time for each, and every airport has its own page with terminal detail and pickup arrangements.
In the designated pre-arranged pickup area for your terminal, with the chauffeur calling as you reach the doors. Pickup zones at PSP change during construction and reorganisation, so the operator confirms the current meeting point on the morning of your flight rather than relying on anything printed in advance. Being met inside arrivals on your name is a paid add-on.
Between 8 to 15 min off-peak and 15 to 30 min in weekday peak traffic, door to door from the arrivals kerb. Published figures shorter than that usually describe a quiet Sunday morning. Each route from the airport has its own page with the roads used and the times worth avoiding.
Yes. Bridge, tunnel and expressway tolls, express lane charges, airport access fees and taxes are all inside the price quoted at the time of booking. Ride-hailing apps and taxis add these to your fare per trip, which is why two apparently similar quotes can settle very differently at the end of the ride.
Yes. Every vehicle is run by a for-hire operator licensed in its own jurisdiction, with licensing and insurance verified before they can take a booking rather than checked per ride.
Sixty minutes of free waiting from the actual landing time, tracked against the aircraft rather than the schedule, which covers immigration, baggage and customs. Every other pickup includes 15 minutes. Beyond the free window, waiting is billed in 15-minute increments at the vehicle class rate and you are told before it starts.
At least 3 hours before pickup so the operator can assign and brief a chauffeur, though RYDES takes reservations up to a year out. For group vehicles and for the busy weeks noted above, book as early as you can, because availability runs out long before price becomes the problem.
Add your flight number and we track the aircraft. A delay moves your pickup automatically and costs nothing, with free waiting starting at the actual landing time. A diversion is handled by dispatch, who will re-brief a chauffeur to the new field where the operator has coverage. Dispatch answers around the clock on +1 888 881 7933.
Yes, with a two-hour minimum in 30-minute increments. The chauffeur waits between stops and nothing runs while you are inside a meeting. Once a day involves three or more stops, hourly hire is usually cheaper than separate transfers once you count the waiting you would have done anyway.
Yes, with as much notice as you can give. Those weeks transform this valley: Highway 111 and the roads into Indio saturate, drive times triple, and every vehicle in the region is committed months in advance. We hold capacity for those dates but cannot create it at short notice. Pickup points around the festival grounds are also controlled and are confirmed to you on the day rather than in advance.
Yes, with notice at booking. A set of clubs takes roughly the space of a large suitcase, which is the part people underestimate. Two golfers with clubs and luggage want an SUV, and four want a van regardless of what the seat count suggests. Tell us the number of bags when you book and the operator sizes the vehicle properly.
Two to two and a half hours in good conditions and up to three and three quarters in bad, for a hundred and ten miles. The I-10 through the pass is the constraint and it backs up heading east on Friday afternoons and west on Sunday afternoons. It is priced as a single fixed fare for the whole journey rather than by the hour, so the traffic is our problem rather than yours, but no chauffeur can shorten the pass.
