Airport transfers
Private transfers at 550 airports. We watch the aircraft, wait an hour free, and meet you inside the terminal.
An airport transfer is a private car booked in advance to carry you between an airport and an address, at one price agreed before you travel. With RYDES that price already contains the tolls, the airport access fees, the parking, the taxes, the gratuity and 60 minutes of waiting measured from the moment the aircraft lands.
It is not hailed on arrival and it is not priced by meter. The vehicle class, the chauffeur and the price are all settled before you fly. A delayed landing, a long immigration queue or a lost bag changes nothing about what you pay.
Tolls, airport access fees, terminal parking, taxes and gratuity are already inside the number you were quoted. Nothing is added afterwards.
Flight tracking from the departure gate at origin, and sixty minutes of free waiting measured from the moment the wheels touch down.
Up to one hour before pickup, at no charge, including when the airline is the reason your plans changed.
Arriving and departing are not the same journey. We price and dispatch them separately because the risks run in opposite directions.
The risk is the aircraft. Everything is built around not knowing exactly when you will walk out.
The risk is the road. Everything is built around getting you to the terminal with time you do not have to think about.
Booking a return trip is two separate transfers, not one. That is deliberate: it means a change to your outbound flight never disturbs the car waiting at the other end.
Five things occur after your wheels touch the runway. You are involved in one of them.
Your flight number is tied to the booking. From the moment the aircraft pushes back at origin, its status is feeding our dispatch.
Early, late or diverted, the booked time follows the aircraft. Your chauffeur is re-briefed automatically. You are not asked to tell anyone.
Not at your scheduled time. The chauffeur parks and walks in while you are still taxiing, which is why they are already standing there.
Kerbside at the designated pickup area, with your chauffeur calling as you come out. Their photo and number reached you three hours earlier. Add meet and greet and they are standing inside arrivals with your name instead.
Luggage is taken at the meeting point and loaded. Nothing is signed, nothing is paid, no meter is started.
Dispatch is reachable around the clock on the number in your confirmation, and they can see your chauffeur's location while you are talking to them.
The starting point matters more than the allowance. Waiting measured from a scheduled time is worth very little on a delayed flight.
| Pickup | Free waiting | The clock starts at | After that |
|---|---|---|---|
| Airport arrivalDomestic or international | 60 minutes | Actual landing time, not the scheduled one | Billed per 15 minutes |
| Airport departureHome or hotel to the terminal | 15 minutes | Your booked pickup time | Billed per 15 minutes |
| Private aviationFBO and general aviation terminals | 60 minutes | Actual landing time | Billed per 15 minutes |
| Any other pickup | 15 minutes | Your booked pickup time | Billed per 15 minutes |
If immigration or baggage runs past the free hour, you are not abandoned. Waiting simply continues and is billed by the quarter hour, and dispatch will have already messaged you before the first charge lands.
Kerbside is the default and it is included. Meet and greet is a paid add-on, and worth it with checked bags, children, or at an airport you do not know.
| Meet and greetPaid add-on | KerbsideIncluded | |
|---|---|---|
| Where | Arrivals hall of your terminal, past baggage reclaim | Designated pickup lane outside the terminal |
| Your name on a sign | Yes | No, you are called on arrival instead |
| Luggage taken | At the meeting point | At the vehicle |
| Typical time to the car | Five to ten minutes, walked | Two to five minutes if the lane is clear |
| Best for | First visits, groups, children, late arrivals, checked bags | Hand luggage, familiar airports, fastest exit |
| Cost | {{FEE_MEET_GREET}} add-on | Included in every fare |
Airports are where surprise charges live. These are the ones that are already inside your quoted price.
| Add-on | Price | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Meet and greet | {{FEE_MEET_GREET}} | Your chauffeur parks, walks into the terminal and waits in the arrivals hall holding a sign with your name, then takes the luggage from there. Without it you are collected kerbside at no charge. |
| Child or booster seat | {{FEE_CHILD_SEAT}} per seat | Fitted before the car leaves for the airport. Give the child's age and weight so the correct seat is used. Availability and price depend on local law and the operator. |
| Travelling with a pet | {{FEE_PET_CLEANING}} cleaning fee | Non-service animals travel in a suitable crate or carrier where the operator accepts them. The fee covers cleaning the vehicle afterwards. Service animals travel free, always. |
Most airport complaints start with luggage, not seats. A car that fits four passengers rarely fits four suitcases. Choose by the boot.

Travelling with skis, golf clubs, a cello or a pushchair? Add it as a note when booking. Oversize items are matched to a vehicle rather than squeezed into one, and it costs nothing to tell us.
550 airports across 90 countries, each served by a licensed local operator who knows that terminal's access rules and where cars are actually allowed to stop.

The full airport directory lists all 550, with terminal notes for each.
A business arrival into Newark and a family landing at Orlando are not the same journey, and they are not dispatched the same way. What stays constant is that somebody is standing in arrivals with your name on a sign, and the price on your confirmation is the price on your card.
RYDES covers every major North American hub, including the multi-airport cities where the terminal you land at decides everything about the pickup.
Anywhere else, a private car and a ride-hailing app are close enough. At arrivals, on a delayed flight, at midnight, they stop resembling each other.
| Situation | RYDES chauffeur | Ride-hailing app | Taxi rank |
|---|---|---|---|
| Your flight lands three hours late | Pickup already moved, chauffeur waiting | Book again on landing at the price of that moment | Whatever the queue looks like |
| Everyone lands at once, 11pm | Same price as it was at booking | Surge, usually at its highest | Long queue, metered |
| Immigration takes 80 minutes | Inside the free hour, then billed per 15 minutes | Driver cancels, you start again | Not applicable |
| Where you walk to | Chauffeur walks to you, inside arrivals | Rideshare lot, often a shuttle ride away | Rank outside the terminal |
| Four people, four checked bags | Vehicle sized at booking | Whatever car accepts the job | Whatever is next in line |
| You need a child seat | Requested in advance and fitted | Rarely available | Not available |
| Your flight is cancelled | Cancel free up to an hour before | Nothing booked, nothing lost | Not applicable |
| Expensing it afterwards | One invoice with the cost centre attached | Per-ride receipt | Paper receipt |
A long flight, an unfamiliar terminal, a language you do not read and a taxi rank you cannot judge. This is the arrival where a pre-booked car stops being a convenience and starts being the reason the trip begins well.
Your chauffeur is from that city. They know which exit is closest to your carousel, which road is shut this month, and roughly how long the queue at passport control really runs at that hour.
Each of these is free to request and expensive to discover at the kerb. All of them go in the notes field when you book.
A paid add-on at {{FEE_CHILD_SEAT}} per seat, requested at booking and fitted before the car leaves for the airport. Tell us the child's age and weight so the right seat is used. Price and available seat types depend on local law and the operator.
Skis, snowboards, golf bags, bicycles, instruments, pushchairs. Say what and how many, and we match a vehicle rather than hoping the boot closes.
A second address on the way from the airport is fine. Added at booking it is priced in advance; added on the day it is billed as waiting plus distance.
Service animals travel free, always. Other animals are accepted by many operators when requested in advance and carried in a suitable crate, with a {{FEE_PET_CLEANING}} cleaning fee shown before you confirm.
Book in your name and put theirs as the passenger. They get the chauffeur details and tracking link; the confirmation and receipt stay with you.
FBO and general aviation arrivals are supported at most airports we cover. Give us the FBO name and the tail number instead of a flight number.
Tell us about wheelchairs, walking aids or mobility needs at booking and the operator will confirm a suitable vehicle and any extra assistance before your travel date.
More than seven people, or several flights converging, is a coordinated arrival rather than a booking. Our events team sets it up as one programme.
If your people fly constantly, the airport transfer is the part of the trip most likely to go wrong and the part finance sees the most receipts for.
Getting to the airport is the ride people most often try to save money on and most often regret. A car that does not turn up at half past four costs you the flight, not the fare.
Departures are priced from live traffic for that day and that hour rather than a generic estimate, your chauffeur arrives ahead of the booked time rather than on it, and fifteen minutes of waiting at your door is already included. You get their name and number the night before, so at 4:30am you are not wondering.
If yours is not here, dispatch answers around the clock at +1 888 881 7933 or support@rydes.co.
Your flight number is attached to the booking and monitored from the moment the aircraft pushes back at its origin airport. Dispatch sees the live arrival time rather than the scheduled one, so your pickup and your chauffeur's briefing update on their own. You do not need to message anyone from the plane.
The pickup time moves with the aircraft, in both directions. An early landing is treated the same way as a late one: the chauffeur is released when the wheels touch down. Your 60 minutes of free waiting also starts at the actual landing time, so a delay never eats into it and never costs extra.
60 minutes of free waiting from the moment your aircraft lands, which covers immigration, baggage reclaim and customs. If you need longer, waiting continues and is billed in 15-minute increments at your vehicle class rate, and dispatch contacts you before the first charge applies. The chauffeur does not leave without speaking to you.
Kerbside by default, at the designated pickup area for the terminal your flight lands at, with your chauffeur calling as you come out. That is included in every fare. If meet and greet was added, they wait inside the arrivals hall holding a sign with your name instead. The exact meeting point is sent in your booking confirmation either way, along with your chauffeur's name, photo, vehicle and direct phone number three hours before pickup.
It is a paid add-on. Every fare includes kerbside collection, where your chauffeur waits in the designated pickup lane and calls you as you come out. Meet and greet adds terminal parking and the chauffeur walking in to wait in arrivals with your name, and it is priced and shown to you before you confirm. It is worth adding with checked bags, with children, or at an airport you do not know.
At least 3 hours before your pickup, which for an arrival means 3 hours before the flight lands. RYDES accepts bookings up to a year ahead. Larger vehicles, holiday periods and early-morning departures sell out well before the deadline, so book those as soon as your flights are confirmed.
Cancel free of charge up to 1 hour before the scheduled pickup, and since the pickup time follows your flight, a cancellation upstream usually leaves you well inside that window. If you rebook onto a later flight, change the flight number on the booking instead of cancelling and the whole transfer moves with it.
No. The price you are quoted is the price you pay, and it does not move with demand, weather, time of day or how many aircraft land at once. A midnight arrival on a public holiday costs what the booking said it would cost.
A Business sedan takes 2 large cases and 1 small one. An SUV takes 5 large, a Van takes 7 large. Large means a standard checked case up to about 75cm. Passenger capacity and luggage capacity are rarely reached at the same time, so choose the class by the bags rather than the seats.
Yes, when you tell us in advance. Add the item and quantity to the notes when booking and the operator assigns a vehicle that genuinely fits it. There is no charge for the request itself. Arriving with unannounced oversize items is the one thing that can leave you without a suitable car.
Yes, as a paid add-on charged per seat. Seats are requested during booking and fitted before the car leaves for the terminal. The price and available seat types depend on local law and the operator serving that airport, and both are shown to you before you confirm. Give the child's age and weight so the correct seat is used.
Yes. Added at the time of booking, the extra stop is priced into the fixed fare in advance. Added on the day, it is charged as waiting time plus the additional distance, at your vehicle class rate. Either way you are told the cost before it applies.
Call your chauffeur on the direct number in your confirmation. If that does not resolve it, call dispatch on the 24-hour number, also in the confirmation. Dispatch can see the chauffeur's live location while they are speaking to you and will walk you to each other.
Yes. Departures are priced and dispatched separately from arrivals. Your pickup time is calculated from live traffic for that day and hour rather than a fixed estimate, your chauffeur arrives ahead of the booked time, and 15 minutes of waiting at your door is included.
Yes. Book in your own name and enter the traveller as the passenger. They receive the chauffeur details and tracking link directly, and the sign at arrivals carries their name. The confirmation, the receipt and any changes stay with you.
Payment is authorised when you book and captured after the ride is completed, so a transfer cancelled inside the free window is never charged. Major credit and debit cards are accepted, along with regional wallets in supported markets. Business accounts can be invoiced monthly instead.
