Boston airport transfersThe right shape for a day in Downtown Boston with several stops. The car waits between meetings, and parking is not your problem.
Hourly chauffeur in BostonNew York, Cape Cod and Hyannis, Newport, Rhode Island and beyond, door to door, with your luggage staying in the car the entire way.
Intercity rides from BostonFlynn Cruiseport Boston, timed to embarkation windows rather than to the clock, with luggage handling included.
Boston cruise transfersA Boston chauffeur service is pre-arranged ground transport booked ahead at a fixed price, carried out by a licensed for-hire operator. It is not hailed on the street and not dispatched on demand. The vehicle, the chauffeur and the price are all settled before the day of travel, whether the booking is a BOS airport transfer, an hourly car service or a black car to a morning meeting.
In practice that distinction decides what happens when things go wrong. A metered taxi and a surge-priced app both re-price themselves when traffic turns or the weather does. A reserved Boston car service booking does not. The number you agreed is the number you pay, and it already contains the tolls, the airport access fees and the taxes.
The same reservation covers the rest of the region: Laurence G. Hanscom Field transfers, Rhode Island T.F. Green transfers, Manchester-Boston Regional transfers, and a car service to New York when the trip runs further out. For companies moving people through the city regularly, corporate travel in Boston adds central billing and duty-of-care reporting on top of the same fleet.
Which one is right depends far more on where you are going than on which is nearest. Each has its own page with terminal detail and pickup arrangements.
| Airport | Distance | Typical drive, off-peak | Typical drive, peak | Best for |

| Rhode Island T.F. GreenPVD | 60 miles | 1h to 1h 20 | 1h 20 to 2h | A cheaper way in, and the right field for the South Shore and Newport |
| Manchester-Boston RegionalMHT | 55 miles | 55 to 75 min | 1h 20 to 2h | New Hampshire, the Merrimack Valley and the northern suburbs |

Drive times are door to door from the arrivals kerb, not gate to gate, and they assume a direct private vehicle rather than a shared shuttle. Peak means roughly 07:00 to 10:00 and 15:30 to 19:30 on a weekday.
Logan is four miles from downtown with a harbour in between, which means every arrival is a tunnel decision, and the tunnels are where Boston's time goes.
Three tunnels connect the airport to the city. The Ted Williams runs to the Seaport and the Pike, the Sumner brings you inbound to the North End and downtown, and the Callahan takes you back out. All of them are tolled electronically, all-electronic with no cash lanes, and the charge lands on the vehicle's transponder rather than on you. On a RYDES booking those tolls are inside the quoted price. The routing decision between them belongs to the operator, and on a bad afternoon it is worth twenty minutes.
Logan's ground transportation arrangements have moved more than once in recent years, with app pickups relocated away from the terminal kerbs and pre-arranged vehicles working from designated pickup areas that differ by terminal. Logan runs terminals A, B, C and E, they are not walkable from one another in any useful sense, and international arrivals clear at Terminal E. Your chauffeur confirms the current pickup point on the day rather than relying on anything printed in advance.
Storrow Drive deserves its own warning. It has a series of low overpasses, a standing prohibition on trucks and tall vehicles, and a September tradition of student movers wedging box trucks under them. A Sprinter or a high-roof van cannot use Storrow. If you have booked a group vehicle to Cambridge or Back Bay, it is going a different way, and the drive time is longer than the one you found on a map.
One more thing that catches visitors: Boston's street grid is not one. Addresses repeat across neighbouring towns, Cambridge and Boston have separate numbering, and there are multiple Washington Streets within a few miles. Give a full address with the town name, not just a street and a number.
Details above were checked against public sources at the time of writing. Rates, terminal assignments and construction timelines in this section change faster than any website updates, so treat your chauffeur's message on the day as the authority.
Published transfer times are usually the best case. These are ranges, and the upper end happens often enough to plan around.
| Route | Off-peak | Weekday peak | What moves it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Logan to Downtown and the Financial District | 15 to 25 min | 30 to 55 min | The Ted Williams Tunnel, then the surface streets that used to be the Central Artery |
| Logan to Back Bay | 20 to 30 min | 35 to 65 min | Sumner Tunnel or Ted Williams depending on the hour |
| Logan to the Seaport | 10 to 20 min | 20 to 40 min | The shortest run in the city, straight through the Ted Williams |
| Logan to Cambridge | 20 to 35 min | 40 to 70 min | Storrow or Memorial Drive, and Storrow has a height limit |
| Logan to Brookline and Newton | 30 to 45 min | 50 to 85 min | The Pike westbound, slow from three in the afternoon |
| Logan to Hanscom and the 128 corridor | 35 to 50 min | 60 to 95 min | Route 2 or the Pike to 128, the daily biotech commute in reverse |
Each route above has its own page with pricing by vehicle class, the roads actually used and the times worth avoiding.
Intercity runs are priced as one fixed fare for the whole journey, not per hour, so the traffic is our problem rather than yours.
| Destination | Distance | Typical drive | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| New York | 215 miles | 3h 45 to 5h | I-95 or the Merritt, and neither is quick on a Friday |
| Cape Cod and Hyannis | 70 miles | 1h 20 to 3h | The bridges are the whole story on a summer weekend |
| Newport, Rhode Island | 75 miles | 1h 20 to 1h 50 | Straightforward outside the summer season |
| Portsmouth and the New Hampshire coast | 60 miles | 1h to 1h 30 | I-95 north, with a toll plaza that still backs up |
| Portland, Maine | 110 miles | 1h 50 to 2h 30 | The long New England run, comfortable in a First class sedan |
| Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun | 100 miles | 1h 45 to 2h 15 | Worst on a Sunday evening heading back |

Embarkation day luggage runs heavier than air travel for the same trip length, because there is no airline weight limit pushing back. Size one class above your instinct and read the guidance on Boston cruise transfers before you book.
The chauffeur meeting you is dispatched by an operator based here, not routed in from another market.
The capacity below is the honest number, not the manufacturer maximum. Carrying full-size cases, take the next class up.

No meter, no surge multiplier, and no line item that appears after the ride is over.
The Silver Line SL1 leaves every Logan terminal and runs to South Station, and from the airport it is free. No fare, no ticket. If you are travelling alone with a carry-on to the Seaport, downtown or anywhere on the Red Line, it is one of the best deals in American transit and it will often beat a car through the tunnel at rush hour.
A chauffeur is the right booking when the tunnel is the least of your problems. Luggage, more than two people, a young family, an arrival at Terminal E after a long-haul flight, a winter morning departure, a day out to the Cape or Newport, or any destination on the 128 corridor where transit stops being useful. Those are most of our Boston bookings, and none of them are well served by a free bus.
The full cost and time comparison against the meter is on Boston taxi versus chauffeur.
The terminal assignment, the pickup zone that moved last month, the parking permit for that garage. None of it reaches you.
Pickup, drop-off, date and time. Add a flight number and we track the aircraft rather than the schedule.
Six classes with honest capacity figures and one all-in price each. No estimate, no range, no surge.

It depends far more on your destination than on distance. Boston Logan International (BOS), Laurence G. Hanscom Field (BED) are the main options, and the drive times differ enough that the cheapest ticket is often not the cheapest arrival. The table above sets out distance and typical drive time for each, and every airport has its own page with terminal detail and pickup arrangements.
In the designated pre-arranged pickup area for your terminal, with the chauffeur calling as you reach the doors. Pickup zones at BOS change during construction and reorganisation, so the operator confirms the current meeting point on the morning of your flight rather than relying on anything printed in advance. Being met inside arrivals on your name is a paid add-on.
Between 15 to 30 min off-peak and 30 to 60 min in weekday peak traffic, door to door from the arrivals kerb. Published figures shorter than that usually describe a quiet Sunday morning. Each route from the airport has its own page with the roads used and the times worth avoiding.
Yes. Bridge, tunnel and expressway tolls, express lane charges, airport access fees and taxes are all inside the price quoted at the time of booking. Ride-hailing apps and taxis add these to your fare per trip, which is why two apparently similar quotes can settle very differently at the end of the ride.
Yes. Every vehicle is run by a for-hire operator licensed in its own jurisdiction, with licensing and insurance verified before they can take a booking rather than checked per ride.
Sixty minutes of free waiting from the actual landing time, tracked against the aircraft rather than the schedule, which covers immigration, baggage and customs. Every other pickup includes 15 minutes. Beyond the free window, waiting is billed in 15-minute increments at the vehicle class rate and you are told before it starts.
At least 3 hours before pickup so the operator can assign and brief a chauffeur, though RYDES takes reservations up to a year out. For group vehicles and for the busy weeks noted above, book as early as you can, because availability runs out long before price becomes the problem.
Add your flight number and we track the aircraft. A delay moves your pickup automatically and costs nothing, with free waiting starting at the actual landing time. A diversion is handled by dispatch, who will re-brief a chauffeur to the new field where the operator has coverage. Dispatch answers around the clock on +1 888 881 7933.
Yes, with a two-hour minimum in 30-minute increments. The chauffeur waits between stops and nothing runs while you are inside a meeting. Once a day involves three or more stops, hourly hire is usually cheaper than separate transfers once you count the waiting you would have done anyway.
In the designated pre-arranged pickup area for your terminal, confirmed by the chauffeur before you land. Logan's ground transportation arrangements have changed repeatedly in recent years and pickup zones differ between terminals A, B, C and E, so we treat the message from your chauffeur as the authority rather than anything printed in advance. International arrivals clear customs at Terminal E, which has its own arrangement.
Yes. The Ted Williams, Sumner and Callahan tunnels are all electronically tolled and the charge goes to the vehicle's transponder. On a RYDES booking it is inside the price you were quoted at the time of booking, along with airport fees and any Turnpike tolls on the way west. Nothing is added at the end of the ride.
No. Storrow Drive has low clearance overpasses and prohibits trucks and tall vehicles, which rules out Sprinters and high-roof vans entirely. If you have booked a group vehicle to Cambridge, Back Bay or Fenway it will take a longer route, and the drive time should be planned on that basis rather than on what a mapping app suggests for a car.
