Orlando airport transfersThe right shape for a day in Downtown Orlando with several stops. The car waits between meetings, and parking is not your problem.
Hourly chauffeur in OrlandoPort Canaveral, Tampa, Miami and beyond, door to door, with your luggage staying in the car the entire way.
Intercity rides from OrlandoPort Canaveral, timed to embarkation windows rather than to the clock, with luggage handling included.
Orlando cruise transfersA Orlando chauffeur service is pre-arranged ground transport booked ahead at a fixed price, carried out by a licensed for-hire operator. It is not hailed on the street and not dispatched on demand. The vehicle, the chauffeur and the price are all settled before the day of travel, whether the booking is a MCO airport transfer, an hourly car service or a black car to a morning meeting.
In practice that distinction decides what happens when things go wrong. A metered taxi and a surge-priced app both re-price themselves when traffic turns or the weather does. A reserved Orlando car service booking does not. The number you agreed is the number you pay, and it already contains the tolls, the airport access fees and the taxes.
The same reservation covers the rest of the region: Orlando Sanford International transfers, Kissimmee Gateway transfers, Orlando Executive transfers, and a car service to Port Canaveral when the trip runs further out. For companies moving people through the city regularly, corporate travel in Orlando adds central billing and duty-of-care reporting on top of the same fleet.
Which one is right depends far more on where you are going than on which is nearest. Each has its own page with terminal detail and pickup arrangements.
| Airport | Distance | Typical drive, off-peak | Typical drive, peak | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Orlando InternationalMCO | 15 miles | 25 to 40 min | 40 to 70 min | Everything. One of the busiest leisure airports in the country |
| Orlando Sanford InternationalSFB | 25 miles | 35 to 50 min | 50 to 85 min | Value carriers and charters, further out than it looks |
| Kissimmee GatewayISM | 20 miles | 30 to 40 min | 40 to 65 min | General aviation close to the parks |
| Orlando ExecutiveORL | 8 miles | 15 to 25 min | 25 to 45 min | Private aviation right by downtown |
| Daytona Beach InternationalDAB | 55 miles | 55 to 70 min | 1h 10 to 1h 45 | The coast, and race weeks at the Speedway |
Drive times are door to door from the arrivals kerb, not gate to gate, and they assume a direct private vehicle rather than a shared shuttle. Peak means roughly 07:00 to 10:00 and 15:30 to 19:30 on a weekday.
Orlando's private transfer market exists in its current form because a free bus stopped running. What replaced it has a very specific set of requirements.
When Disney's Magical Express ended, a large volume of families who had never booked ground transport in their lives suddenly had to. That shaped this market around three things that barely matter anywhere else: child seats, grocery stops and luggage volume. Florida law requires child restraints for young children and it applies to for-hire vehicles here in a way it does not in every state. RYDES fits car seats at no charge, but they have to be requested at booking with the child's age and weight, because the operator brings them to the vehicle rather than keeping a set in the boot.
The grocery stop is the second thing. A family staying in a vacation home in Kissimmee or Celebration for a week almost always wants to stop at a supermarket on the way from the airport. It is a standard, expected part of an Orlando transfer, it is included rather than billed as waiting time within a reasonable window, and it should be mentioned at booking so the route is planned through it.
Luggage here runs heavier than almost any market we operate. A family of five staying two weeks with strollers, car seats and park gear does not fit the capacity assumptions built into a standard SUV booking. Size a class above your instinct, and count the stroller as a suitcase.
The roads are toll roads. SR-417, SR-528 the Beachline and the Turnpike are all electronic and are almost always faster than I-4, which is the most congested interstate in the state and has been under reconstruction for years. Those charges are inside your quoted price, so the operator takes the toll road as a matter of course.
Port Canaveral is the other pillar of this market. It is fifty miles east of the airport, around an hour, and the cruise transfer volume is very large. Embarkation bookings are timed to boarding windows rather than the clock.
Details above were checked against public sources at the time of writing. Rates, terminal assignments and construction timelines in this section change faster than any website updates, so treat your chauffeur's message on the day as the authority.
Published transfer times are usually the best case. These are ranges, and the upper end happens often enough to plan around.
| Route | Off-peak | Weekday peak | What moves it |
|---|---|---|---|
| MCO to Walt Disney World | 25 to 40 min | 40 to 70 min | SR-417 or the Beachline, both tolled and both worth it |
| MCO to Universal Orlando | 20 to 35 min | 35 to 60 min | I-4 or the toll roads, and I-4 is rarely the answer |
| MCO to International Drive | 20 to 30 min | 30 to 55 min | The Beachline west, the convention corridor |
| MCO to Downtown Orlando | 20 to 30 min | 30 to 55 min | SR-528 then I-4, short by local standards |
| MCO to Port Canaveral | 50 to 65 min | 1h 10 to 1h 40 | The Beachline east, a booking we take constantly |
| MCO to Celebration and Kissimmee | 25 to 40 min | 40 to 70 min | The vacation home corridor south of the parks |
Each route above has its own page with pricing by vehicle class, the roads actually used and the times worth avoiding.
Intercity runs are priced as one fixed fare for the whole journey, not per hour, so the traffic is our problem rather than yours.
| Destination | Distance | Typical drive | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Port Canaveral | 50 miles | 50 to 65 min | The largest single long run out of this market |
| Tampa | 85 miles | 1h 25 to 2h | I-4 west, and I-4 is the worst interstate in Florida |
| Miami | 235 miles | 3h 30 to 4h 30 | The Turnpike south, tolled the whole way |
| Daytona Beach | 55 miles | 55 to 70 min | I-4 east, and race weeks are their own event |
| St Augustine | 110 miles | 1h 45 to 2h 15 | Up the coast, a common day trip |
| Clearwater and St Pete | 105 miles | 1h 45 to 2h 30 | Through Tampa, so allow for I-4 |
| Terminal | Location | Typical transfer |
|---|---|---|
| Port Canaveral | Cape Canaveral, Florida | 50 to 65 min from MCO |
Embarkation day luggage runs heavier than air travel for the same trip length, because there is no airline weight limit pushing back. Size one class above your instinct and read the guidance on Orlando cruise transfers before you book.
The chauffeur meeting you is dispatched by an operator based here, not routed in from another market.
The capacity below is the honest number, not the manufacturer maximum. Carrying full-size cases, take the next class up.

No meter, no surge multiplier, and no line item that appears after the ride is over.
Several resorts still run their own shuttles, Brightline connects MCO to Miami and West Palm Beach, and if you are staying on Disney property with no plans to leave it, the internal transport network genuinely covers you. A couple with two carry-ons heading to International Drive can reasonably take a rideshare.
A chauffeur earns its price with children, with the car seats, with two weeks of luggage, with a vacation home in Kissimmee and a grocery run, on Port Canaveral cruise mornings, and for anyone arriving at eleven at night with tired children who would rather not stand in a queue. That is most of who books here, and it is a fair reason to.
The full cost and time comparison against the meter is on Orlando taxi versus chauffeur.
The terminal assignment, the pickup zone that moved last month, the parking permit for that garage. None of it reaches you.
Pickup, drop-off, date and time. Add a flight number and we track the aircraft rather than the schedule.

It depends far more on your destination than on distance. Orlando International (MCO), Orlando Sanford International (SFB) are the main options, and the drive times differ enough that the cheapest ticket is often not the cheapest arrival. The table above sets out distance and typical drive time for each, and every airport has its own page with terminal detail and pickup arrangements.
In the designated pre-arranged pickup area for your terminal, with the chauffeur calling as you reach the doors. Pickup zones at MCO change during construction and reorganisation, so the operator confirms the current meeting point on the morning of your flight rather than relying on anything printed in advance. Being met inside arrivals on your name is a paid add-on.
Between 25 to 40 min off-peak and 40 to 70 min in weekday peak traffic, door to door from the arrivals kerb. Published figures shorter than that usually describe a quiet Sunday morning. Each route from the airport has its own page with the roads used and the times worth avoiding.
Yes. Bridge, tunnel and expressway tolls, express lane charges, airport access fees and taxes are all inside the price quoted at the time of booking. Ride-hailing apps and taxis add these to your fare per trip, which is why two apparently similar quotes can settle very differently at the end of the ride.
Yes. Every vehicle is run by a for-hire operator licensed in its own jurisdiction, with licensing and insurance verified before they can take a booking rather than checked per ride.
Sixty minutes of free waiting from the actual landing time, tracked against the aircraft rather than the schedule, which covers immigration, baggage and customs. Every other pickup includes 15 minutes. Beyond the free window, waiting is billed in 15-minute increments at the vehicle class rate and you are told before it starts.
At least 3 hours before pickup so the operator can assign and brief a chauffeur, though RYDES takes reservations up to a year out. For group vehicles and for the busy weeks noted above, book as early as you can, because availability runs out long before price becomes the problem.
Add your flight number and we track the aircraft. A delay moves your pickup automatically and costs nothing, with free waiting starting at the actual landing time. A diversion is handled by dispatch, who will re-brief a chauffeur to the new field where the operator has coverage. Dispatch answers around the clock on +1 888 881 7933.
Yes, with a two-hour minimum in 30-minute increments. The chauffeur waits between stops and nothing runs while you are inside a meeting. Once a day involves three or more stops, hourly hire is usually cheaper than separate transfers once you count the waiting you would have done anyway.
Yes, fitted at no extra charge, but they must be requested when you book with each child's age and weight so the operator brings the right restraint to the vehicle. Florida law requires child restraints for young children and it applies to for-hire vehicles, so this is not an optional extra. Requesting at the kerb is too late; the seat will not be in the car.
Yes, and it is a normal part of an Orlando transfer rather than a special request. Tell us at booking and the route is planned through a supermarket near your accommodation, with a reasonable stop included rather than billed as waiting time. Families staying in Kissimmee, Celebration or the vacation home corridor ask for this more often than not.
Yes, and it is one of the largest bookings in this market. Port Canaveral is around fifty miles east of Orlando International, roughly an hour along the Beachline, and transfers are timed to your boarding window rather than to the clock. Luggage handling is included. Embarkation luggage runs heavier than air travel for the same trip length, so size a vehicle class above your instinct.
