Marseille airport transfersThe right shape for a day in the Vieux-Port with several stops. The car waits between meetings, and parking is not your problem.
Hourly chauffeur in MarseilleAix-en-Provence, Cassis and the Calanques, Avignon and beyond, door to door, with your luggage staying in the car the entire way.
Intercity rides from MarseilleMarseille Provence Cruise Terminal, Vieux-Port, timed to embarkation windows rather than to the clock, with luggage handling included.
Marseille cruise transfersA Marseille chauffeur service is pre-arranged ground transport booked ahead at a fixed price, carried out by a registered VTC operator. It is not hailed on the street and not dispatched on demand. The vehicle, the chauffeur and the price are all settled before the day of travel, whether the booking is a MRS airport transfer, an hourly car service or a black car to a morning meeting.
In practice that distinction decides what happens when things go wrong. A metered taxi and a surge-priced app both re-price themselves when traffic turns or the weather does. A reserved Marseille car service booking does not. The number you agreed is the number you pay, and it already contains the autoroute tolls, the airport fees and VAT.
The same reservation covers the rest of the region: Toulon-Hyères transfers, Nice Côte d'Azur transfers, Avignon-Provence transfers, and a car service to Aix-en-Provence when the trip runs further out. For companies moving people through the city regularly, corporate travel in Marseille adds central billing and duty-of-care reporting on top of the same fleet.
Which one is right depends far more on where you are going than on which is nearest. Each has its own page with terminal detail and pickup arrangements.

Drive times are door to door from the arrivals kerb, not gate to gate, and they assume a direct private vehicle rather than a shared shuttle. Peak means roughly 07:00 to 10:00 and 15:30 to 19:30 on a weekday.
Marseille is France's largest cruise port and the airport that serves it is closer to Aix-en-Provence than to Marseille. Both facts catch visitors out.
The cruise terminals sit at the Grand Port north of the city rather than at the Vieux-Port, and on a turnaround Saturday in season several thousand passengers embark and disembark within the same few hours. Access roads saturate, and a transfer quoted at thirty minutes takes over an hour. Embarkation bookings are timed to your boarding window rather than to the clock, luggage handling is included, and cruise luggage runs heavier than air travel for the same trip because no airline weight limit is pushing back on it.
Aix-en-Provence is thirty kilometres from Marseille and around twenty to thirty minutes from the airport, which makes it closer to the terminal than the centre of Marseille is. A very large share of what looks like Marseille airport demand is actually going to Aix, and visitors regularly assume the opposite. Judge by the drive time column.
The Calanques National Park between Marseille and Cassis operates access restrictions, with some sectors requiring advance reservation during the high fire-risk months and closures imposed at short notice on days of extreme risk. No chauffeur can drive past a closure. Book your access separately where it is required, tell us the time slot, and the day is planned backwards from it.
Marseille runs a low emission zone on the Crit'Air system, as Paris and Lyon do. Our operators run certified vehicles so there is nothing for you to arrange. The A7 and A55 into the city are the main arteries and both congest hard at peak; the Vieux-Port and Le Panier are dense and narrow, and larger vehicles cannot reach many addresses in the old quarter.
Details above were checked against public sources at the time of writing. Rates, terminal assignments and construction timelines in this section change faster than any website updates, so treat your chauffeur's message on the day as the authority.
Published transfer times are usually the best case. These are ranges, and the upper end happens often enough to plan around.
| Route | Off-peak | Weekday peak | What moves it |
|---|---|---|---|
| MRS to the Vieux-Port | 30 to 45 min | 50 to 85 min | The A55 south along the coast into the city |
| MRS to Aix-en-Provence | 20 to 30 min | 30 to 55 min | North on the A51, and closer to the airport than Marseille is |
| MRS to the cruise terminals | 25 to 40 min | 40 to 75 min | The Grand Port north of the city, and turnaround days are the event |
| MRS to Cassis | 45 to 60 min | 1h to 1h 30 | Round the city and east along the coast |
| MRS to the Prado and the southern beaches | 35 to 50 min | 55 to 90 min | Through or round the city, and round is often faster |
| MRS to Avignon | 1h 10 to 1h 30 | 1h 25 to 2h | North on the A7, tolled |
Each route above has its own page with pricing by vehicle class, the roads actually used and the times worth avoiding.
Intercity runs are priced as one fixed fare for the whole journey, not per hour, so the traffic is our problem rather than yours.

|---|---|---|---|
| Aix-en-Provence | 30 km | 35 to 55 min | A huge share of airport transfers actually go here |

| Avignon | 100 km | 1h 10 to 1h 30 | The Palais des Papes and the festival in July |
| The Luberon | 85 km | 1h 15 to 1h 40 | Gordes, Bonnieux and Ménerbes, booked hourly |
| Saint-Tropez | 145 km | 1h 50 to 2h 20 | East along the coast, and August is severe |

Embarkation day luggage runs heavier than air travel for the same trip length, because there is no airline weight limit pushing back. Size one class above your instinct and read the guidance on Marseille cruise transfers before you book.
The chauffeur meeting you is dispatched by an operator based here, not routed in from another market.

No meter, no surge multiplier, and no line item that appears after the ride is over.
There is a frequent shuttle bus between Marseille Provence and Saint-Charles station, and Marseille's metro and tram network is inexpensive and covers the centre well. Aix is easily reached by coach from the airport. For a single traveller with a manageable bag, all of those work perfectly well.
A chauffeur earns its price on cruise turnaround days, with luggage or a group, for Aix, Cassis and the Luberon where the coach network thins out, for Provence days booked hourly where the vehicle waiting is the whole value, for villa and mas addresses that satellite navigation handles badly, and for early departures.
The full cost and time comparison against the meter is on Marseille taxi versus chauffeur.
The terminal assignment, the pickup zone that moved last month, the parking permit for that garage. None of it reaches you.
Pickup, drop-off, date and time. Add a flight number and we track the aircraft rather than the schedule.
Six classes with honest capacity figures and one all-in price each. No estimate, no range, no surge.

It depends far more on your destination than on distance. Marseille Provence (MRS), Nice Côte d'Azur (NCE) are the main options, and the drive times differ enough that the cheapest ticket is often not the cheapest arrival. The table above sets out distance and typical drive time for each, and every airport has its own page with terminal detail and pickup arrangements.
In the designated pre-arranged pickup area for your terminal, with the chauffeur calling as you reach the doors. Pickup zones at MRS change during construction and reorganisation, so the operator confirms the current meeting point on the morning of your flight rather than relying on anything printed in advance. Being met inside arrivals on your name is a paid add-on.
Between 30 to 45 min off-peak and 50 to 85 min in weekday peak traffic, door to door from the arrivals kerb. Published figures shorter than that usually describe a quiet Sunday morning. Each route from the airport has its own page with the roads used and the times worth avoiding.
Yes. Autoroute tolls, airport fees and VAT are inside the price quoted at booking. France's low emission zones work differently from a charge: they are policed by the Crit'Air windscreen certificate, which classes a vehicle by emissions, and there is nothing to pay. A vehicle either carries the right class or it should not enter the zone. Our operators run certified vehicles, so compliance never reaches you.
Yes. A chauffeur in France operates as a VTC, a voiture de transport avec chauffeur, on the national register, and every vehicle is run by an operator whose registration and insurance are verified before they can take a booking. A VTC must be pre-booked and may not accept a street hail or wait on a taxi rank. That is a matter of law rather than preference, and it is why your chauffeur meets you at an agreed point rather than in the taxi queue.
Sixty minutes of free waiting from the actual landing time, tracked against the aircraft rather than the schedule, which covers immigration, baggage and customs. Every other pickup includes 15 minutes. Beyond the free window, waiting is billed in 15-minute increments at the vehicle class rate and you are told before it starts.
At least 3 hours before pickup so the operator can assign and brief a chauffeur, though RYDES takes reservations up to a year out. For group vehicles and for the busy weeks noted above, book as early as you can, because availability runs out long before price becomes the problem.
Add your flight number and we track the aircraft. A delay moves your pickup automatically and costs nothing, with free waiting starting at the actual landing time. A diversion is handled by dispatch, who will re-brief a chauffeur to the new field where the operator has coverage. Dispatch answers around the clock on +1 888 881 7933.
Yes, with a two-hour minimum in 30-minute increments. The chauffeur waits between stops and nothing runs while you are inside a meeting. Once a day involves three or more stops, hourly hire is usually cheaper than separate transfers once you count the waiting you would have done anyway.
Yes, and it is one of our largest French bookings. The terminals are at the Grand Port north of the city rather than at the Vieux-Port, and on a turnaround Saturday in season several thousand passengers move through within a few hours, so access roads saturate. We time the pickup to your boarding window rather than to the clock and include luggage handling. Embarkation luggage runs heavier than air travel, so size a vehicle class above your instinct.
Yes, and it surprises people. Aix is twenty to thirty minutes from Marseille Provence, while the centre of Marseille is thirty to forty five, and a very large share of transfers from this airport are actually heading to Aix. If your business or stay is in Aix, judge the journey by the drive time here rather than by which city the airport is named after.
Only as far as the access rules allow, and those change. The Calanques National Park operates restrictions between Marseille and Cassis, with some sectors requiring advance reservation during high fire-risk months and closures imposed at short notice on days of extreme risk. Book any required access separately, give us your time slot, and the day is planned around it. No vehicle passes a closure.
