Nice airport transfersThe right shape for a day in central Nice with several stops. The car waits between meetings, and parking is not your problem.
Hourly chauffeur in NiceMonaco, Cannes, Saint-Tropez and beyond, door to door, with your luggage staying in the car the entire way.
Intercity rides from NicePort de Nice, Villefranche-sur-Mer, Cannes, timed to embarkation windows rather than to the clock, with luggage handling included.
Nice cruise transfersA Nice chauffeur service is pre-arranged ground transport booked ahead at a fixed price, carried out by a registered VTC operator. It is not hailed on the street and not dispatched on demand. The vehicle, the chauffeur and the price are all settled before the day of travel, whether the booking is a NCE airport transfer, an hourly car service or a black car to a morning meeting.
In practice that distinction decides what happens when things go wrong. A metered taxi and a surge-priced app both re-price themselves when traffic turns or the weather does. A reserved Nice car service booking does not. The number you agreed is the number you pay, and it already contains the autoroute tolls, the airport fees and VAT.
The same reservation covers the rest of the region: Cannes-Mandelieu transfers, Monaco Heliport transfers, Toulon-Hyères transfers, and a car service to Monaco when the trip runs further out. For companies moving people through the city regularly, corporate travel in Nice adds central billing and duty-of-care reporting on top of the same fleet.
Which one is right depends far more on where you are going than on which is nearest. Each has its own page with terminal detail and pickup arrangements.

Drive times are door to door from the arrivals kerb, not gate to gate, and they assume a direct private vehicle rather than a shared shuttle. Peak means roughly 07:00 to 10:00 and 15:30 to 19:30 on a weekday.
Nice is one of the shortest airport transfers in France attached to a coastline where almost nobody's journey actually ends in Nice.
The airport sits seven kilometres west of the centre on the sea, and the transfer into Nice is fifteen to twenty five minutes. But the great majority of arrivals here are going elsewhere: Monaco, Cannes, Antibes, Villefranche, Saint-Tropez. Those are thirty minutes to four hours away depending on the destination and the month. Judge the booking by the drive time rather than by the airport's proximity to the city, because the two have very little to do with each other.
Monaco is a separate sovereign state, thirty minutes along the coast, and it can be reached by road on the A8 or by the corniches, or by helicopter in about seven minutes. During the Grand Prix in May the circuit is the streets of the principality, roads close for the better part of a week, and access is controlled. That week and the Cannes Film Festival, which overlaps it, are the two periods when the Riviera's entire vehicle capacity is committed a year ahead and pricing stops being the constraint.
The three corniches between Nice and Monaco are the Basse along the shore, the Moyenne through Èze, and the Grande high above. They are among the most beautiful roads in Europe, they are slow, and they are not the fastest way anywhere. Your chauffeur takes the A8 when you need to be on time and a corniche when the drive is the point. Tell us which you want.
Saint-Tropez deserves a specific warning. It is ninety kilometres from Nice, which sounds like ninety minutes and is, outside summer. In July and August the single road onto the peninsula becomes one of the worst bottlenecks in France and the same journey can take four hours. Book early, travel early, and treat any published transfer time for that route with suspicion.
Yacht and villa work is a large share of this market. Berths at Villefranche, Antibes, Cannes and Monaco, and villa addresses in the hills behind the coast that no satellite navigation finds cleanly, are routine here. Give the operator the berth or the villa name and the gate code rather than a postcode.
Details above were checked against public sources at the time of writing. Rates, terminal assignments and construction timelines in this section change faster than any website updates, so treat your chauffeur's message on the day as the authority.
Published transfer times are usually the best case. These are ranges, and the upper end happens often enough to plan around.
| Route | Off-peak | Weekday peak | What moves it |
|---|---|---|---|
| NCE to central Nice | 15 to 25 min | 25 to 50 min | Along the Promenade, and it really is that short |
| NCE to Monaco | 30 to 45 min | 45 to 90 min | The A8 or the corniches, and Grand Prix week is another matter |
| NCE to Cannes | 30 to 45 min | 50 to 90 min | The A8 west, and festival weeks change everything |
| NCE to Antibes and Juan-les-Pins | 25 to 35 min | 40 to 70 min | Halfway to Cannes along the coast |
| NCE to Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat and Villefranche | 20 to 30 min | 30 to 55 min | The Basse Corniche, and the villa and yacht corridor |
| NCE to Saint-Tropez | 1h 40 to 2h | 2h 30 to 4h | Ninety kilometres that can take four hours in August |
Each route above has its own page with pricing by vehicle class, the roads actually used and the times worth avoiding.
Intercity runs are priced as one fixed fare for the whole journey, not per hour, so the traffic is our problem rather than yours.
| Destination | Distance | Typical drive | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Monaco | 25 km | 30 to 45 min | A separate principality, and the Grand Prix closes it |
| Cannes | 33 km | 30 to 45 min | The festival and trade fair calendar dominates it |
| Saint-Tropez | 90 km | 1h 40 to 2h | August traffic on the peninsula is genuinely severe |
| Menton and the Italian border | 30 km | 35 to 55 min | The far eastern Riviera |
| Èze and the Grande Corniche | 12 km | 25 to 40 min | Usually part of an hourly day rather than a transfer |
| San Remo and Liguria | 60 km | 1h to 1h 25 | Across the Italian border, arranged at booking |
| Terminal | Location | Typical transfer |
|---|---|---|
| Port de Nice | Nice city centre | 20 to 35 min from NCE |
| Villefranche-sur-Mer | Tender anchorage | 20 to 35 min |
| Cannes | Vieux Port and tender anchorage | 30 to 45 min |
Embarkation day luggage runs heavier than air travel for the same trip length, because there is no airline weight limit pushing back. Size one class above your instinct and read the guidance on Nice cruise transfers before you book.
The chauffeur meeting you is dispatched by an operator based here, not routed in from another market.
The capacity below is the honest number, not the manufacturer maximum. Carrying full-size cases, take the next class up.

No meter, no surge multiplier, and no line item that appears after the ride is over.
Tram line 2 runs from the airport terminals into central Nice and on to the port for the price of an ordinary ticket, and it is quick and reliable. The coastal TER train between Nice, Antibes, Cannes and Monaco is frequent, cheap and often faster than driving. For a solo traveller with a manageable bag, either is a good answer and we would not talk anyone out of them.
A chauffeur earns its price on everything that is not Nice itself, which is most of this market. Monaco, Saint-Tropez, the villa addresses in the hills, yacht berths, groups, luggage, festival and Grand Prix weeks, and any hourly day where the corniches are the point rather than the obstacle.
The full cost and time comparison against the meter is on Nice taxi versus chauffeur.
The terminal assignment, the pickup zone that moved last month, the parking permit for that garage. None of it reaches you.
Pickup, drop-off, date and time. Add a flight number and we track the aircraft rather than the schedule.

It depends far more on your destination than on distance. Nice Côte d'Azur (NCE), Cannes-Mandelieu (CEQ), Monaco Heliport (MCM) are the main options, and the drive times differ enough that the cheapest ticket is often not the cheapest arrival. The table above sets out distance and typical drive time for each, and every airport has its own page with terminal detail and pickup arrangements.
In the designated pre-arranged pickup area for your terminal, with the chauffeur calling as you reach the doors. Pickup zones at NCE change during construction and reorganisation, so the operator confirms the current meeting point on the morning of your flight rather than relying on anything printed in advance. Being met inside arrivals on your name is a paid add-on.
Between 15 to 25 min off-peak and 25 to 50 min in weekday peak traffic, door to door from the arrivals kerb. Published figures shorter than that usually describe a quiet Sunday morning. Each route from the airport has its own page with the roads used and the times worth avoiding.
Yes. Autoroute tolls, airport fees and VAT are inside the price quoted at booking. France's low emission zones work differently from a charge: they are policed by the Crit'Air windscreen certificate, which classes a vehicle by emissions, and there is nothing to pay. A vehicle either carries the right class or it should not enter the zone. Our operators run certified vehicles, so compliance never reaches you.
Yes. A chauffeur in France operates as a VTC, a voiture de transport avec chauffeur, on the national register, and every vehicle is run by an operator whose registration and insurance are verified before they can take a booking. A VTC must be pre-booked and may not accept a street hail or wait on a taxi rank. That is a matter of law rather than preference, and it is why your chauffeur meets you at an agreed point rather than in the taxi queue.
Sixty minutes of free waiting from the actual landing time, tracked against the aircraft rather than the schedule, which covers immigration, baggage and customs. Every other pickup includes 15 minutes. Beyond the free window, waiting is billed in 15-minute increments at the vehicle class rate and you are told before it starts.
At least 3 hours before pickup so the operator can assign and brief a chauffeur, though RYDES takes reservations up to a year out. For group vehicles and for the busy weeks noted above, book as early as you can, because availability runs out long before price becomes the problem.
Add your flight number and we track the aircraft. A delay moves your pickup automatically and costs nothing, with free waiting starting at the actual landing time. A diversion is handled by dispatch, who will re-brief a chauffeur to the new field where the operator has coverage. Dispatch answers around the clock on +1 888 881 7933.
Yes, with a two-hour minimum in 30-minute increments. The chauffeur waits between stops and nothing runs while you are inside a meeting. Once a day involves three or more stops, hourly hire is usually cheaper than separate transfers once you count the waiting you would have done anyway.
Thirty to forty five minutes by road on a normal day, and up to an hour and a half at peak or in summer. The helicopter link takes about seven minutes and is booked separately. During the Grand Prix in May the streets of the principality are the circuit, roads close for most of a week and access is controlled, so any transfer that week is planned around the closures and confirmed on the day.
Yes, and it is worth being honest about the time. It is ninety kilometres, an hour and forty to two hours outside summer, and up to four hours in July and August when the single road onto the peninsula becomes one of the worst bottlenecks in the country. It is priced as one fixed fare for the whole journey rather than by the hour, so the traffic is our problem, but no chauffeur can shorten that road in August.
Yes, and they are a large part of what we do here. Berths at Villefranche, Antibes, Cannes and Monaco and villa addresses in the hills behind the coast are routine. Give us the berth number or the villa name and any gate code when you book rather than a postcode, because satellite navigation handles neither well and the last two hundred metres are where the time goes.
