Courchevel corporate travelA Courchevel chauffeur service is pre-arranged ground transport booked ahead at a fixed price, carried out by a registered VTC operator. It is not hailed on the street and not dispatched on demand. The vehicle, the chauffeur and the price are all settled before the day of travel, whether the booking is a GVA airport transfer, an hourly car service or a black car to a morning meeting.
In practice that distinction decides what happens when things go wrong. A metered taxi and a surge-priced app both re-price themselves when traffic turns or the weather does. A reserved Courchevel car service booking does not. The number you agreed is the number you pay, and it already contains the autoroute tolls, the airport fees and VAT.
The same reservation covers the rest of the region: Chambéry Savoie Mont Blanc transfers, Lyon-Saint Exupéry transfers, Grenoble Alpes Isère transfers, and a car service to Geneva when the trip runs further out. For companies moving people through the city regularly, corporate travel in Courchevel adds central billing and duty-of-care reporting on top of the same fleet.
Which one is right depends far more on where you are going than on which is nearest. Each has its own page with terminal detail and pickup arrangements.

Drive times are door to door from the arrivals kerb, not gate to gate, and they assume a direct private vehicle rather than a shared shuttle. Peak means roughly 07:00 to 10:00 and 15:30 to 19:30 on a weekday.
Alpine transfers are decided by one day of the week, one piece of French law, and twenty kilometres of hairpins above Moûtiers.
The Alps run on Saturday to Saturday chalet weeks, and the consequence is that on a Saturday in February essentially every visitor to the Three Valleys arrives or leaves within the same twelve hours. The Tarentaise valley road becomes one continuous queue, Geneva's arrivals hall is at capacity, and a transfer quoted at two and a quarter hours can take five. This is entirely predictable, which is the useful part: book the Saturday transfer as early as you book the chalet, allow the upper end of every range, and if your dates are flexible at all, travel on any other day.
Geneva is the main gateway and it is in Switzerland. The airport has a French sector with direct road access into France, which means a transfer can often avoid entering Swiss territory at all, but the arrangement has to be set up correctly at the time of booking. Not every operator and vehicle is licensed and insured for cross-border work. Passengers should carry travel documents appropriate to their nationality regardless of which sector they use.
France's Loi Montagne requires winter equipment on vehicles in designated mountain communes through the winter season, and the Tarentaise is squarely within it. Enforcement is real. Vehicles we dispatch on these routes carry winter tyres and chains as standard rather than on request, and in heavy snow the road above Moûtiers can be restricted or closed outright by the préfecture. No operator drives through that; what we do is hold the booking and move the pickup rather than cancelling it.
The final twenty kilometres from Moûtiers up to Courchevel are a series of hairpins that climb well over a thousand metres. In good conditions it is thirty five to fifty minutes. In snow, at night, behind a queue of hire cars whose drivers have never fitted chains, it is considerably longer. This is the section that makes the difference between a chauffeur and a rental car here.
Courchevel Altiport is one of the most demanding airstrips in Europe, with a very short sloping runway, no instrument approach and a specific pilot certification requirement. It handles private aviation only and it closes readily in poor visibility. Arrivals planning to use it should have a road contingency, and a RYDES booking can carry one.
Details above were checked against public sources at the time of writing. Rates, terminal assignments and construction timelines in this section change faster than any website updates, so treat your chauffeur's message on the day as the authority.
Published transfer times are usually the best case. These are ranges, and the upper end happens often enough to plan around.
| Route | Off-peak | Weekday peak | What moves it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Geneva to Courchevel | 2h 15 to 2h 45 | 3h to 5h | The A41 and A43 then up from Moûtiers, and Saturdays are the problem |
| Chambéry to Courchevel | 1h 40 to 2h | 2h 15 to 3h 30 | The shortest commercial approach |
| Lyon to Courchevel | 2h 20 to 2h 50 | 3h to 4h 30 | The A43 east through the Maurienne approach |
| Grenoble to Courchevel | 2h to 2h 30 | 2h 45 to 4h | The southern approach, popular with charter |
| Moûtiers station to Courchevel | 35 to 50 min | 50 to 90 min | Twenty kilometres of hairpins, and the ski train arrives here |
| Courchevel to Méribel and Val Thorens | 50 to 75 min | 1h 15 to 2h | Down the valley and back up the next one |
Each route above has its own page with pricing by vehicle class, the roads actually used and the times worth avoiding.
Intercity runs are priced as one fixed fare for the whole journey, not per hour, so the traffic is our problem rather than yours.
| Destination | Distance | Typical drive | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Geneva | 145 km | 2h 15 to 2h 45 | Across an international border, arranged at booking |
| Méribel | 35 km | 45 to 65 min | The next valley, and there is no direct road over the top |
| Val Thorens and Les Menuires | 50 km | 1h to 1h 20 | Back down to the valley floor and up again |
| Val d'Isère and Tignes | 85 km | 1h 40 to 2h 15 | Up the Tarentaise, weather dependent |
| Annecy | 130 km | 2h to 2h 30 | The lake, and a common summer booking |
| Chamonix | 150 km | 2h 20 to 3h | Round through the valleys, longer than it looks |
The chauffeur meeting you is dispatched by an operator based here, not routed in from another market.

No meter, no surge multiplier, and no line item that appears after the ride is over.
The winter TGV services run directly to Moûtiers from Paris and from London, and they are genuinely excellent: comfortable, quick, and they deliver you twenty kilometres from the resort rather than two hundred. If your journey works with them, take the train and book only the final transfer up from Moûtiers. That is a better trip than a five hour Saturday road transfer from Geneva and it usually costs less.
A chauffeur earns its price on the Geneva and Lyon runs where the distance, the border and the equipment are the actual service, on Saturdays when the valley is full, with ski equipment and a family, from Moûtiers up the hairpins, and on any February departure where the road might close and you need somebody whose problem that is.
The terminal assignment, the pickup zone that moved last month, the parking permit for that garage. None of it reaches you.
Pickup, drop-off, date and time. Add a flight number and we track the aircraft rather than the schedule.

It depends far more on your destination than on distance. Geneva (GVA), Chambéry Savoie Mont Blanc (CMF), Lyon-Saint Exupéry (LYS) are the main options, and the drive times differ enough that the cheapest ticket is often not the cheapest arrival. The table above sets out distance and typical drive time for each, and every airport has its own page with terminal detail and pickup arrangements.
In the designated pre-arranged pickup area for your terminal, with the chauffeur calling as you reach the doors. Pickup zones at GVA change during construction and reorganisation, so the operator confirms the current meeting point on the morning of your flight rather than relying on anything printed in advance. Being met inside arrivals on your name is a paid add-on.
Between 2h 15 to 2h 45 off-peak and 3h to 5h in weekday peak traffic, door to door from the arrivals kerb. Published figures shorter than that usually describe a quiet Sunday morning. Each route from the airport has its own page with the roads used and the times worth avoiding.
Yes. Autoroute tolls, airport fees and VAT are inside the price quoted at booking. France's low emission zones work differently from a charge: they are policed by the Crit'Air windscreen certificate, which classes a vehicle by emissions, and there is nothing to pay. A vehicle either carries the right class or it should not enter the zone. Our operators run certified vehicles, so compliance never reaches you.
Yes. A chauffeur in France operates as a VTC, a voiture de transport avec chauffeur, on the national register, and every vehicle is run by an operator whose registration and insurance are verified before they can take a booking. A VTC must be pre-booked and may not accept a street hail or wait on a taxi rank. That is a matter of law rather than preference, and it is why your chauffeur meets you at an agreed point rather than in the taxi queue.
Sixty minutes of free waiting from the actual landing time, tracked against the aircraft rather than the schedule, which covers immigration, baggage and customs. Every other pickup includes 15 minutes. Beyond the free window, waiting is billed in 15-minute increments at the vehicle class rate and you are told before it starts.
At least 3 hours before pickup so the operator can assign and brief a chauffeur, though RYDES takes reservations up to a year out. For group vehicles and for the busy weeks noted above, book as early as you can, because availability runs out long before price becomes the problem.
Add your flight number and we track the aircraft. A delay moves your pickup automatically and costs nothing, with free waiting starting at the actual landing time. A diversion is handled by dispatch, who will re-brief a chauffeur to the new field where the operator has coverage. Dispatch answers around the clock on +1 888 881 7933.
Yes, with a two-hour minimum in 30-minute increments. The chauffeur waits between stops and nothing runs while you are inside a meeting. Once a day involves three or more stops, hourly hire is usually cheaper than separate transfers once you count the waiting you would have done anyway.
Geneva is the main gateway at a hundred and forty five kilometres and two and a quarter to two and three quarter hours in good conditions, with the widest schedule. Chambéry is closest at a hundred kilometres but has a limited, largely seasonal schedule. Lyon and Grenoble are alternatives. Courchevel Altiport is three kilometres away but handles private aviation only. On a Saturday in high season, add substantially to every one of those figures.
Yes, as standard on these routes rather than on request. France's Loi Montagne requires winter equipment on vehicles in designated mountain communes through the winter season and the Tarentaise is within it, with real enforcement. In heavy snow the road above Moûtiers can be restricted or closed by the préfecture, and no vehicle drives through that. We hold your booking and move the pickup rather than cancelling it.
Because the Alps run on Saturday to Saturday chalet weeks, so nearly everyone visiting the Three Valleys arrives or departs within the same twelve hours. The valley road becomes a continuous queue and a transfer quoted at two and a quarter hours from Geneva can take five. It is completely predictable, so book early, allow the upper end of the range, and travel on another day if your dates permit.
