A Thessaloniki chauffeur service is private transport booked in advance at a fixed price, carried out by an operator licensed for EIX vehicles, the Greek category of private-use passenger cars with a driver. Under Law 5290/2026 such a car can only be hired through a written contract registered in the Ministry's digital register before the trip begins, naming the pickup point and the start and end times. It cannot be hailed, it cannot wait for customers at a taxi rank, and the vehicle, chauffeur and price are fixed before the day, whether that is a Makedonia airport transfer, an hourly car service in Thessaloniki or a black car to a Thermi office.
Because the law treats the booking as a timed hire, it also sets a minimum. On the mainland that is two hours and €82 from April to October and three hours through the winter, so a short run into the centre is priced at no less than the legal floor. What you get for it is certainty: a reserved Thessaloniki car service does not reprice for a night flight or a full boot, and the quoted figure already contains 13 percent VAT, any Egnatia Odos or national motorway toll and the airport's own charges.
Most of the summer work runs south-east to the peninsulas. SKG to Sani and SKG to Pefkochori cover Kassandra, SKG to Porto Carras covers Sithonia, and SKG to Ouranoupoli reaches the harbour for Athos. The rest of the year is meetings, the September fair and the film festival in November. For companies moving people through the city regularly, corporate travel in Thessaloniki adds central billing on the same fleet, and the Thessaloniki taxi alternative page compares a booking against a metered ride in full.
