How Turin gets used.

Turin is a working city with a wine region to the south and a wall of mountains to the west, and most bookings here fall into one of four shapes.

Airport transfers.

Turin Caselle for the city and the mountains, and Malpensa to Turin when the long-haul flight lands in Milan. The flight is tracked from take-off, and the first 60 minutes after it touches down are free.

Turin black car service

What is a Turin chauffeur service?

A Turin chauffeur service is a private car with a professional driver, booked in advance at a fixed price and carried out by an NCC operator, noleggio con conducente, licensed under Legge 21/1992, the national law for non-scheduled road passenger transport. The NCC authorisation is issued by a comune, and the operator keeps its base and a rimessa, its garage, in that comune. An NCC car cannot be hailed in the street or picked up at a taxi rank, so every trip is reserved first, whether it is a Turin airport transfer, an hourly car service in Turin or a black car to a meeting in the centre.

That pre-booking rule is the RYDES model. You agree the car, the class and the price before the day; RYDES arranges the booking and a licensed NCC operator carries out the journey. Nothing is metered. The quoted figure already contains the 10 percent IVA that applies to NCC passenger transport and every motorway toll the route uses, from the A4 to Milan to the Mont Blanc tunnel. Compared with a taxi or an app, a reserved Turin car service trades a little flexibility for a number that does not move, which is the subject of Turin taxi alternative.

The same booking reaches well beyond the city. Caselle to the Inalpi Arena for the ATP Finals, Turin to Alba and Turin to Barolo for the wine country, Turin to Sestriere for skiing, Turin to Chamonix across the border and Turin to Milan when the train does not fit. Companies sending engineers, buyers and auditors to Turin every month can put it all on one account through corporate travel in Turin, with central billing on the same fleet.

The airports that serve Turin.

Turin has its own airport a short motorway run north of the city, and for many long-haul passengers the practical alternative is Milan Malpensa, about an hour and a half away by road.

Airports serving Turin, with approximate road distance and door-to-door driving time to Porta Nuova in the centre.

Milan MalpensaMXP, LombardyAbout 137 km1 h 40 to 1 h 552 h to 2 h 40Intercontinental flights, including most arrivals from North America, when there is no good connection into Caselle

Drive times are door to door and assume a private car going direct, not a shared shuttle. Peak in Turin means roughly 07:30 to 09:30 and 17:00 to 19:30 on weekdays. ATP Finals evenings, ski-season Saturdays on the roads to Sestriere, and the Friday exodus towards the Aosta Valley are their own categories, and the ranges here do not cover them. The Malpensa figure is to Turin, not to Porta Nuova specifically, and depends on the A4.

Where your chauffeur meets you.

Caselle is a single-terminal airport, which keeps arrivals simple. What matters more in Turin is where the car is allowed to stop at the other end.

Turin Caselle.

Turin airport at Caselle Torinese handled more than 5 million passengers for the first time in 2025, up from 4.69 million the year before. It has one terminal, so there is no terminal choice to get wrong and no inter-terminal train to catch.

We do not publish a fixed meeting spot for NCC cars at Caselle, because we have not been able to confirm one that holds for every operator. Your chauffeur names the exact point in the message sent before you land, with a photo of the car and a phone number. For the drive into town, see Caselle to Turin centre.

  • Standard pickup, the free defaultThe chauffeur waits at the point named in the pre-arrival message and calls you as you leave baggage reclaim.
  • Meet and greet, a paid add-onThe chauffeur stands in the arrivals hall with your name, useful with children, a lot of luggage or a first visit.
  • Private and business aviationIf you arrive on a business aircraft, tell us the handling agent at booking and dispatch confirms the meeting point with them.

Milan Malpensa.

Many visitors heading to Turin land at Malpensa, Milan's intercontinental airport, because it has the long-haul schedule Caselle does not. The road distance to Turin is about 137 km, so this is an intercity transfer rather than an airport hop, and it is priced as one fare door to door with the A4 tolls inside it.

The 60 free minutes start at actual landing here too, which matters after a long-haul flight with passport control and checked bags. Your chauffeur's message names the meeting point at the terminal your flight uses. If you are spending a night in Milan first, the same booking can collect you from a hotel there instead.

The centre and the ZTL.

Central Turin is a zona a traffico limitato, enforced by cameras. The ZTL Centrale applies on weekdays from 07:30 to 10:30, a separate public-transport ZTL covers certain streets from 07:00 to 20:00 every day, and the roads through the Valentino park are closed to traffic around the clock.

Dispatch confirms ZTL access for your address; if the car cannot enter, the drop-off is at the nearest permitted point. Under the arcades of Via Roma and in the Quadrilatero that can mean a short walk on foot. We will never promise a car at the door of a pedestrian street, and we would rather tell you before the day than at the barrier.

Airport and ZTL details above were checked against public sources in October 2026. Restricted-zone hours change, so treat the chauffeur's message and dispatch as the authority on where the car stops on the day.

Tolls, IVA and the tourist tax.

Turin has no congestion charge. What adds to the cost of a trip here is the motorway network, the two Alpine tunnels, IVA and the accommodation tax, and each reaches the passenger in a different way.

Almost every long run from Turin uses a toll road, most of them collected at barriers or by Telepass. Milan to Turin on the A4 costs about €18.10 in tolls for a car. The two Alpine tunnels are dearer: in 2026 the Mont Blanc tunnel is €56.40 one way, or €70.40 for a return within seven days, and the Fréjus tunnel into France costs the same. Autostrade tolls rose by about 1.5 percent on average in 2026. On a RYDES booking, every toll the route uses is already inside the price.

NCC passenger transport in Italy carries 10 percent IVA, and that is inside every RYDES fare. Taxi fares in town are VAT-exempt, which is one reason a short taxi hop can be cheaper. Turin approved an imposta di soggiorno in December 2025, with a start date still to be confirmed: it is charged by your hotel, not in the fare, and 2026 rates run up to €5 per person per night. Paid parking, if you ask the car to wait somewhere that charges, is the one cost outside a quote.

How charges reach the passenger in Turin, by way of travelling. Taxi fares are set by the Comune di Torino.

The capped taxi fare is an honest benchmark for the airport run, and for one person with a bag it is often the cheaper option. The case for booking ahead in Turin is stronger on the long runs, where a taxi meter and a tunnel toll can add up quickly, and on the days when demand is high. The full comparison is on Turin taxi versus chauffeur.

How long it really takes.

Turin is not a big city by road, but its runs go a long way: south into the hills of the Langhe, west up the valleys and through the tunnels. The second column means a rush hour, an ATP Finals evening or a ski Saturday.

Typical door-to-door driving times from Turin airport (TRN) unless noted, for a direct private car.

Caselle to the Inalpi Arena30 to 40 min45 to 70 minAbout 22 km; tournament evenings bring closures around the venue
Caselle to Lingotto30 to 40 min45 to 65 minAbout 23 km to the south of the city, through the morning or evening rush
Caselle to Alba1 h 20 to 1 h 351 h 40 to 2 h 10About 90 km; truffle-fair weekends in autumn fill the town
Caselle to Barolo1 h 25 to 1 h 401 h 45 to 2 h 15About 90 km, the last stretch on narrow hill roads between the vineyards
Caselle to Sestriere1 h 45 to 2 h2 h 15 to 3 hAbout 107 km up the Val di Susa; snow and Saturday changeover slow the climb
Caselle to Courmayeur2 h to 2 h 202 h 30 to 3 h 15About 152 km up the Aosta Valley on the motorway
Caselle to Chamonix2 h 25 to 2 h 503 h to 4 hAbout 174 km through the Mont Blanc tunnel; queues at the portal in winter
Caselle to Milan Duomo1 h 55 to 2 h 102 h 20 to 3 hAbout 149 km on the A4; the Milan ring road is where the time goes
Malpensa to Turin1 h 40 to 1 h 552 h to 2 h 40About 137 km, the long-haul alternative to Caselle

The mountain columns depend on weather more than traffic. A heavy snowfall on the road to Sestriere or a closure at the Mont Blanc tunnel can add an hour or more, and a ski-season Saturday is the slowest day of the week in both directions. For a flight or a train you cannot miss, add half the off-peak time again as a buffer between December and March.

Out of Turin.

Each of these is quoted as a single fare for the whole journey, tolls and tunnel included, so a slow queue at the Mont Blanc portal costs the operator time rather than costing you money.

Common long runs from Turin, with approximate road distance and driving time measured from Turin airport. The quote is fixed to the address you give.
DestinationDistanceTypical driveNotes
AlbaAbout 90 km1 h 20 to 2 hCapital of the Langhe and the white truffle town; busiest in autumn
Barolo and La MorraAbout 90 km1 h 25 to 2 h 15Wine estates on hill roads; most visitors book a day by the hour
SestriereAbout 107 km1 h 45 to 3 hThe Via Lattea ski area; SUV class strongly advised in winter
MilanAbout 149 km1 h 55 to 3 hA4 tolls of about €18.10 inside the price; the train is often faster
CourmayeurAbout 152 km2 h to 3 h 15The Italian side of Mont Blanc, at the top of the Aosta Valley
ChamonixAbout 174 km2 h 25 to 4 hThrough the Mont Blanc tunnel into France; cross-border, confirmed at booking

Chamonix is in France, so the run crosses a border inside the tunnel. A licensed operator for the other side of the border is confirmed at booking, and the trip is not sold automatically. Every passenger needs a passport or national identity card. The Mont Blanc toll of €56.40 one way is inside the price, and so is the Fréjus tunnel if the route uses it. For Milan as a destination in its own right, see Milan chauffeur service.

When you should not book us.

Turin has good public transport for a city its size, and for some trips a chauffeur is the wrong choice.

On your own from Caselle with one bag, the airport bus is hard to argue with. The Arriva service costs €7.50, or €8.50 if you buy the ticket on board, and leaves every 15 to 30 minutes. The Flibco shuttle takes about 25 minutes and starts from €6.99 if you book online. A taxi to the centre runs at a capped fare of about €40 with night and holiday surcharges included, and for two people with suitcases that is a fair price.

Between Turin and Milan, the train usually wins. The fastest Frecciarossa services take about 1 hour 2 minutes to 1 hour 5 minutes; for example, the 07:53 from Milano Centrale reaches Torino Porta Nuova at 08:58, stopping at Rho Fiera and Porta Susa. By road the same trip is around two hours, more in Milan's traffic.

A car makes sense when the train or bus does not: a ski transfer with boots and bags, a day of tastings in Barolo where nobody wants to drive, Chamonix through the tunnel, a late arrival after the buses stop, three or more people, children, or a meeting schedule with several stops. That is most of why people book us in Turin, but not every journey. The cost comparison is on Turin taxi versus chauffeur.

Is a chauffeur car in Turin legal?

Yes. A chauffeur car in Italy is an NCC, noleggio con conducente, licensed under Legge 21/1992. The authorisation is issued by a comune, and the operator keeps its base and a rimessa in that comune. NCC trips must be booked in advance, which is exactly how a RYDES booking works: RYDES arranges it and a licensed NCC operator carries it out. See Turin car service.

What is the difference between an NCC and a taxi in Turin?

A taxi is licensed by the Comune di Torino, can be hailed or taken from a rank, and charges a tariff set by the city. An NCC cannot pick up street hails or wait at taxi ranks; every journey is booked in advance at an agreed price. In 2020 the Constitutional Court (ruling 56/2020) struck down the old rule forcing an NCC car back to its garage after every job, and in 2025 a 2024 ministerial decree's 20-minute gap between booking and pickup, and its ban on continuing contracts with platforms and intermediaries, were annulled by TAR Lazio in July and by Constitutional Court ruling 163/2025. The national electronic register for taxi and NCC, RENT, is being rolled out. The comparison is on Turin taxi alternative.

Where does my chauffeur meet me at Turin airport?

Caselle has a single terminal. Your chauffeur names the exact meeting point in the message sent before you land, with a photo of the car and a phone number. Meet and greet inside the arrivals hall, with your name on a sign, is a paid add-on. See Turin airport transfer.

How much is a taxi from Turin airport to the centre?

About €40, capped by the municipality, with night and holiday surcharges included (2025 data). For one or two people that is a fair benchmark. A RYDES price is fixed at booking and includes 10 percent IVA and any tolls; the case for it is the class of car, the free waiting and the certainty. See Caselle to Turin centre.

Is there a bus from Turin airport?

Yes. The Arriva airport bus costs €7.50, or €1 more if bought on board, and runs every 15 to 30 minutes. The Flibco shuttle takes about 25 minutes and costs from €6.99 when booked online. For one traveller with light luggage, either is the cheapest way into Turin.

How long does it take from Caselle to the centre of Turin?

About 25 to 35 minutes off-peak to Porta Nuova, and 40 to 60 minutes in weekday rush hours. The road distance is about 20 km. Whether the car can reach your door depends on the ZTL. See Caselle to Turin centre.

Can the car drive into the ZTL in central Turin?

Dispatch confirms ZTL access for your address; if the car cannot enter, the drop-off is at the nearest permitted point. The ZTL Centrale runs on weekdays from 07:30 to 10:30, a public-transport ZTL covers some streets from 07:00 to 20:00 every day, and the Valentino park roads are closed to traffic at all times.

Are tolls and IVA included in the price?

Yes. The 10 percent IVA on NCC transport and every toll on the route, such as about €18.10 on the A4 to Milan or €56.40 one way through the Mont Blanc or Fréjus tunnel in 2026, are inside the price quoted in euros. Paid parking and the hotel tourist tax are outside it. See Turin taxi versus chauffeur.

How do I get to the ATP Finals at the Inalpi Arena?

The Nitto ATP Finals run from 15 to 22 November 2026 at the Inalpi Arena, about 22 km and 30 to 40 minutes off-peak from Caselle. Tournament evenings bring heavy traffic and closures around the venue, so book early and allow extra time. Turin hosts again in 2027. See ATP Finals transfers and Caselle to the Inalpi Arena.

Can I book a day in the Langhe wine country?

Yes. Alba and Barolo are each about 90 km from Turin airport, roughly 1 hour 20 to 1 hour 40 off-peak. Most visitors book by the hour, two hours minimum in 30-minute increments, so the car waits between tastings. Autumn is the white truffle season in Alba and the busiest time. See Langhe and Barolo, Turin to Alba and Turin to Barolo.

Do you do ski transfers to Sestriere?

Yes. Sestriere, in the Via Lattea ski area, is about 107 km from Caselle, usually 1 hour 45 to 2 hours, and up to 3 hours on a snowy ski Saturday. Book an SUV or a van for skis and boots. See Sestriere ski transfers and Caselle to Sestriere.

Can you take me to Courmayeur or Chamonix?

Yes. Courmayeur is about 152 km from Caselle, around 2 hours. Chamonix is about 174 km through the Mont Blanc tunnel, around 2 hours 25 or more. Chamonix is in France, so a licensed operator for the other side of the border is confirmed at booking. The tunnel toll is inside the price. See Courmayeur and Chamonix.

Should I take the train to Milan instead?

Often, yes. The fastest Frecciarossa trains take about 1 hour 2 minutes to 1 hour 5 minutes between Milano Centrale and Torino Porta Nuova. By road it is about two hours. A car is worth it with a lot of luggage, a group, a door-to-door pickup or a schedule the trains do not fit. See Turin to Milan.

Can I land at Malpensa and be driven to Turin?

Yes. Malpensa to Turin is about 137 km, usually 1 hour 40 to 1 hour 55 off-peak, priced as one fare with the motorway tolls inside it. The 60 free minutes of waiting start at actual landing. See Malpensa to Turin.

How much waiting time is free?

Sixty minutes from actual landing at Caselle and Malpensa, tracked against the real arrival rather than the timetable. Every other pickup includes 15 free minutes. After that, waiting is billed in 15-minute increments at the class rate, and you are told before it starts.

How far ahead should I book in Turin?

At least 3 hours before pickup, and reservations open up to a year ahead. For the ATP Finals week in November, the Salone del Libro at Lingotto in mid-May 2027, truffle weekends in Alba and ski-season Saturdays, book as early as you can. Teams travelling often can use corporate accounts.

What if my flight is delayed or cancelled?

Add the flight number at booking and the pickup moves with the aircraft at no charge. Cancel free up to 24 hours before pickup; inside 24 hours the booking is charged in full. If a flight diverts to Malpensa, dispatch re-briefs the chauffeur for the new airport. Clocks in Italy go back to CET on 25 October 2026. See Turin airport transfer.
