What is a Valencia chauffeur service?

A Valencia chauffeur service is private transport booked in advance at a fixed euro price and carried out by a licensed VTC operator: a vehículo de turismo con conductor authorised under Spain's Ley de Ordenación de los Transportes Terrestres (LOTT, Ley 16/1987), with each vehicle authorised by the Generalitat Valenciana's transport department for work inside the Valencian Community. In Spain a chauffeur car is a VTC: it can only move with a contract already in place, which is exactly how a RYDES booking works. RYDES arranges the trip; the licensed VTC operator drives it, whether it is a VLC airport transfer, an hourly car service or a black car to a meeting.

Valencia adds its own rules on top of the national ones. Since the 2019 regional decree-law, a VTC here must be booked at least 15 minutes ahead, an app may not show nearby cars before you book, and a VTC may not cruise or wait for passengers at airports, stations, hotels or taxi ranks. RYDES bookings close three hours before pickup, so the 15-minute minimum is always met with room to spare. What you get from a reserved Valencia car service is a price that does not move: the 10 percent IVA, any toll and the airport parking used for your pickup are already inside it, which is the main difference set out on the taxi alternative page.

The booking reaches well beyond the centre. Alicante airport transfers for flights into the busier airport to the south, cruise terminal transfers at the port, a car for Feria Valencia or Las Fallas, VLC to the City of Arts and Sciences and a car service to Benidorm or to Madrid. Companies that move staff through Valencia every month can put the same fleet on corporate travel in Valencia with central billing.

Times are door to door and assume a direct private car. Peak here means roughly 07:30 to 09:30 and 18:00 to 20:30 on a weekday, plus Friday afternoons in summer heading for the beaches. The Fallas week in March, MotoGP weekend and Marathon Sunday sit outside both columns and are covered below. The cruise terminal times are from VLC; from the centre the run is shorter.

Where your chauffeur actually meets you.

Valencia Airport is compact, but the VTC rules shape where a chauffeur can stand. The port and Alicante each work in their own way.

Valencia Airport, Manises.

Valencia Airport handled 11,847,527 passengers in 2025, up 9.6 percent on the year before. Since June 2024 Cabify has held Aena's exclusive signposted VTC pickup bays at VLC, five of them, so a RYDES chauffeur does not use those bays. The regional rules also stop a VTC from waiting at the airport for passengers, which is why your chauffeur holds nearby and comes to you once you are through.

The current VTC zone layout at VLC is not confirmed, so we do not print a door number here. Your chauffeur names the exact meeting point, or the short-stay car park they are using, in the message sent before you land. Any car park charge for that pickup is inside the price. Timings for the run into town are on VLC to Valencia centre.

  • The named meeting point, freeThe default pickup: the point or car park your chauffeur names in the pre-arrival message, at no extra charge.
  • Meet and greet, a paid add-onYour chauffeur waits inside arrivals with your name, useful with children, a lot of luggage or a first visit.
  • Flight tracked from departureAn early or late arrival moves the pickup without a call from you, and free waiting starts at touchdown.

The cruise terminal.

The Port of Valencia cruise terminal took 430,223 cruise passengers between January and July 2025, 7.6 percent more than a year earlier, and the city now applies a tourism control strategy to manage the numbers. On a busy morning coaches, taxis and private cars share the same access roads, so allowing extra time for a turnaround day is sensible.

Your chauffeur confirms the exact door or car access for your ship in the message sent before you disembark, and tracks the vessel's arrival as well as any connecting flight. A port pickup is pre-booked by definition, which is the only way a VTC may collect there.

Cruise terminal · 900 × 600

Alicante-Elche.

Alicante-Elche is far busier than Valencia, with 19.95 million passengers in 2025, and it often has the route or the fare VLC lacks. It sits 195 km from VLC, about 2 hours 29 minutes with clear roads. The AP-7 along this coast no longer charges tolls, and if any route uses a toll road the toll is inside the price.

Pickup follows the same pattern as Valencia: your chauffeur names the meeting point before you land, and meet and greet inside arrivals is a paid add-on. For timing, see Alicante airport to Valencia, or VLC to Benidorm if your stay is between the two.

Airport and port details above were checked against public sources in October 2026. Pickup arrangements for VTCs change with Aena's concessions, so the message from your chauffeur is the authority on where to walk.

IVA, tolls, the ZBE and airport charges.

Valencia has no congestion charge and its main coast motorway is now toll-free. What can still change a fare here is tax, the occasional toll, the low-emission zone and the cost of standing at an airport.

Passenger transport in Spain carries the reduced 10 percent IVA, and that 10 percent VAT is inside every RYDES price. The AP-7 between Valencia and Alicante is now toll-free, so the coast run to Benidorm or Jávea costs nothing extra on the road. Where a route does use a toll road, the toll is in the quote rather than added afterwards.

Valencia's low-emission zone (ZBE) is being phased in. After an information phase that ran to 30 November 2025, fines began on 1 December 2025 for the most polluting vehicles registered outside Valencia province; from 1 January 2027 they extend to vehicles registered in the province outside the city, and from 1 January 2028 to all vehicles. Vehicles from towns hit by the October 2024 DANA flood are exempt until the end of 2027. Access is decided by the DGT environmental labels 0, ECO, C and B, and RYDES operators' cars meet the zone rules for your route.

Uber left Valencia in 2019; Cabify adapted and kept operating, and Uber's current status in the city is not confirmed here. None of that changes a RYDES booking, which was always pre-booked and fixed. The full side-by-side against the meter is on Valencia taxi versus chauffeur.

How long it really takes.

Valencia is a short-distance city. The airport is barely 11 km from the town hall, so the spread between a quiet run and a slow one comes from the ring roads, the evening peak and the beach traffic rather than the distance.

Typical door-to-door driving times on common Valencia routes, for a direct private car.

Alicante airport to Valencia2 h 20 to 2 h 452 h 45 to 3 h 15About 195 km up the coast, toll-free on the AP-7

Valencia's slow days are dated rather than seasonal. Fallas week in March closes streets across the centre, Marathon Sunday shuts much of the city in the morning, and MotoGP weekend loads the roads to Cheste in both directions. For a flight you cannot miss on one of those days, add the off-peak time again as a buffer.

Leaving town.

Runs out of the city are priced as one fare for the whole trip, not by the hour, so a slow Friday on the coast road is the operator's problem, not yours.

What the Valencia price contains.

No meter running and no demand multiplier. Everything below is decided before the car leaves.

10 percent IVA and tolls
The reduced passenger-transport IVA and any toll the route uses are in the euro total. On the toll-free AP-7 there is nothing to add.
Airport car park for your pickup
If the chauffeur uses the short-stay or express car park to collect you at VLC or Alicante-Elche, that charge is ours, not yours.
A tip only if you want to
The chauffeur's pay for this run is agreed before they accept it. At payment you are offered the option to add a gratuity once; decline and nothing changes.
The flight, watched
With a flight number we follow the aircraft from departure, and the pickup shifts with it, early or late, without a fee.
An hour at the airport
Sixty minutes free from actual touchdown, enough for bags and passport control at VLC. Every other pickup includes 15 minutes, then billing in 15-minute steps, and you are told before it starts.
The named meeting point
Collection from the point your chauffeur names before you land costs nothing extra. A greeting inside arrivals with your name is the paid add-on.
Cancel free up to 24 hours
Any change or cancellation more than 24 hours before pickup is free. Inside 24 hours the booking is charged in full, because the car and chauffeur are already held for you.
A licensed VTC operator
Every Valencia car is run by an operator holding a national VTC authorisation, with each vehicle authorised by the regional transport department and each trip filed in the Ministry of Transport's register before it starts.
Child seats and pets
Child seats are a paid add-on, supplied by the operator and fitted by the parent. Pets are a paid add-on too; service animals always ride free.
What is not included
Parking you ask for along the way, such as the car waiting for you in a paid garage. Nothing else is added after the quote.

When you should not book us.

Valencia Airport has its own metro station, and for plenty of visitors a car is more than the trip needs.

Metro lines 3 and 5 both run from the airport into the city every 15 to 20 minutes and take about 20 minutes to the centre. An airport-zone single is €4.80, plus €1.10 for the card. Travelling alone with a cabin bag to a hotel near a metro stop, that is the right call and we would not try to talk you out of it. Between Madrid and Valencia, high-speed trains run from 1 hour 50 minutes, against roughly four hours by road, so a solo traveller should take the train.

A chauffeur makes sense when the metro does not fit the day: a family with car seats and suitcases, a group of three or more where a fixed fare beats several tickets, an arrival after the last train, a ship to meet at the port, a trip to Jávea, Altea or the Albufera, a hotel far from the metro, or Fallas week when getting around the centre on foot with bags is hard. If none of those apply, save the money. The full comparison is on Valencia taxi versus chauffeur.

Is a RYDES car in Valencia a VTC?

Yes. In Spain a chauffeur car is a VTC, a vehículo de turismo con conductor authorised under the LOTT (Ley 16/1987) and its regulation, the ROTT. It can only move with a contract already in place: the trip is booked before it starts, proof travels in the car, and the operator files it in the Ministry of Transport's electronic VTC register under Real Decreto 785/2021 before it begins. RYDES arranges the booking and a licensed VTC operator carries it out. See Valencia car service.

What are the Valencian rules for VTC cars?

The Valencian Community's 2019 decree-law requires a VTC to be booked at least 15 minutes before the trip, bars apps from showing cars before you book, prohibits cruising, and stops a VTC from waiting at airports, stations, hotels or taxi ranks. Each vehicle is authorised by the regional transport department. RYDES bookings are made at least three hours ahead, so the 15-minute rule is always met.

Where does my chauffeur meet me at Valencia Airport?

At the meeting point or short-stay car park your chauffeur names in the message sent before you land. Cabify has held Aena's exclusive signposted VTC bays at VLC since June 2024, and the current VTC zone layout is not confirmed, so we do not quote a fixed door. The free default is that named point; meet and greet inside arrivals is a paid add-on. See VLC airport transfer.

How long is the drive from VLC to the centre of Valencia?

Valencia Airport is 10.8 km from Plaza del Ayuntamiento, usually 15 to 20 minutes off-peak and 25 to 40 minutes at busy times. The City of Arts and Sciences is 13.5 km, and the Marina 17.5 km. See VLC to Valencia centre and VLC to the City of Arts and Sciences.

Should I take the metro from Valencia Airport instead?

Often, yes. Metro lines 3 and 5 leave the airport every 15 to 20 minutes and reach the centre in about 20 minutes, for an airport-zone single of €4.80 plus €1.10 for the card. For one person with light luggage going to the centre, the metro is the better choice. A chauffeur is worth it with a family, heavy bags, a late arrival, or a destination off the metro such as the coast.

Are IVA, tolls and airport charges included?

Yes. The 10 percent IVA that applies to passenger transport, any toll on the route and any car park charge your chauffeur pays to collect you at the airport are all inside the euro price quoted at booking. Parking you ask for elsewhere is the only thing outside it. See Valencia taxi versus chauffeur.

Does the Valencia low-emission zone affect my trip?

No. Valencia's ZBE is being phased in: fines began on 1 December 2025 for the most polluting vehicles registered outside Valencia province, extend to the rest of the province outside the city from 1 January 2027 and to all vehicles from 1 January 2028, with towns hit by the October 2024 DANA flood exempt to the end of 2027. RYDES operators' cars meet the zone rules for your route, judged by the DGT labels 0, ECO, C and B.

Can you collect me from the Valencia cruise terminal?

Yes. The Port of Valencia cruise terminal is 19.6 km from VLC, about 25 to 50 minutes depending on traffic. Your chauffeur confirms the exact car access for your ship before you disembark and tracks both the ship and any connecting flight. See Valencia cruise terminal transfers.

Should I fly into Alicante instead of Valencia?

Only if Alicante-Elche has the flight or fare you want, or you are staying on the southern Costa Blanca. ALC handled 19.95 million passengers in 2025 against 11.85 million at VLC, so it has more routes, but it is 195 km from VLC, roughly 2 hours 20 to 2 hours 45 by road. See Alicante airport transfers and Alicante airport to Valencia.

How far is Benidorm from Valencia?

About 140 km from the centre, typically 1 hour 40 to 2 hours 05 on the AP-7, which no longer charges tolls. Altea is 133 km and Jávea 112 km. Each is priced as one fixed fare to the address you give. See Valencia to Benidorm, VLC to Benidorm and VLC to Jávea.

Can you take us to the Albufera and El Palmar?

Yes. El Palmar is 26.6 km from the centre, usually 45 minutes to an hour on slow lagoon roads. For a boat trip and lunch, hourly hire with the car waiting is often simpler than two separate transfers. See Valencia to the Albufera.

Do you run transfers for MotoGP at Cheste?

Yes. The MotoGP season finale runs from 27 to 29 November 2026 at Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Cheste, 23.5 km west of the centre. Race-day traffic towards the circuit is heavy, so book early and allow well over an hour each way. See MotoGP Cheste transfers and VLC to Cheste.

Is it worth driving to Madrid instead of taking the train?

Usually not for one person. High-speed trains link Madrid and Valencia from 1 hour 50 minutes, while the road run is about 357 km and roughly four hours. A car makes sense for a group, a lot of luggage or door-to-door collection at both ends. See Valencia to Madrid and chauffeur service in Madrid.

When does Valencia get busiest?

Las Fallas, traditionally 15 to 19 March (the 2027 programme is not yet official), MotoGP weekend at the end of November, the Valencia Marathon on Sunday 6 December 2026 with 36,000 entries, the summer beach season and the cruise season. Book as early as possible for those dates. See Las Fallas transport.

Can I book a car for a day at Feria Valencia?

Yes. Feria Valencia is 12.7 km from VLC on the airport side of the city, and hourly hire has a two-hour minimum in 30-minute increments, with the chauffeur waiting between stops. See Feria Valencia transfers and hourly chauffeur in Valencia.

How far ahead do I need to book in Valencia?

At least three hours before pickup, which also clears the 15-minute regional minimum by a wide margin. Reservations open up to a year ahead. Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before pickup; inside that it is charged in full. Valencia runs on CET, and clocks go back on 25 October 2026. Teams can set up corporate accounts.

What happens if my flight to Valencia is late?

Give us the flight number and we track it. The pickup moves with the actual arrival at no cost, and the 60 free minutes start when the aircraft lands. After that, waiting is billed in 15-minute increments at the class rate, and you are told before it begins. If a flight diverts to Alicante-Elche, dispatch re-briefs the operator for the new airport.
